    Hey guys,

I have run into a little problem. I am trying to replace the head unit in my 09 Tacoma Access Cab. It's obviously an amplified system, as it has the sub between the rear seats. The problem I have is that the wiring harness/amp interface hookup (Axxess TyTo-01) I purchased has a different plug on it than what plugs into the back of the stereo. The harness as 20 pins, but the stereo wire has a few less (I would have to check again to get an exact number), and is not nearly as wide. It's also what the stereo shop gave me when I asked, even though it only says 05-07. I did a bunch of research, and almost every site I found says that the harness' are the same for the amplified systems from 05 and up to 09. So now I am not sure what to do. The harness clearly does not fit, as none of the plugs are even similar. On the back of the stereo, there are four connectors, plus the antenna. I know some of them are not needed, unless I am hooking up the steering wheel controls.

My main question is: Is there a specific amp harness interface I need to get for an 09 access cab with the factory sub?

If so, who makes one, and where can I order it?

Trying to get to the bottom of this.
    Thanks!

Did you check out Crutchfield.com to see what they show for adapters?

Yeah I checked there during my research, but they seem to only have the standard type of wiring harness, not the one that activates the amp.

I am going to go back to the shop today, and probably try out a standard adaptor instead. With any luck, it's all I need and the guy at the stereo shop is just an idiot.

    Any other ideas?

Totally forgot about this thread. Yeah so I went back to the stereo the next day and got the correct harness. For the newer stereos you just need the standard wiring harness. I guess the sub in the back is just powered like a regular speaker in line with the rest, or the amp turns on automatically when the stereo gets power. I took the Tyto-01 back to the store and picked up a standard harness and everything worked properly. The sub in the back works, as do all the speakers and fade/balence controls. It's a good thing too, the price difference between the two harness' was like $160.
