Been a couple of times. $130 per day which comes out to 140 minutes of riding time.

Is there a supermoto thread anywhere here?I keep finding myself  over the sm. Not justifiable to get one anytime soon though.

They are a ton of fun! Here's me on my 03 CRF450R at a trackday this year.

Looks good. Idk if a 450 would be big enough. The Ktm 690 looks damn good to me

I guess depends on what kind of riding/track you plan to do.
Some people are running 250s. It's a blast either way. Seems like a 690 might be a little more expensive to fix when it goes down.

The LC4's are one of the most reliable motors around. There's a dude riding one (technically two, one got stolen in Ireland) around the world- http://rtwwithnoah.blogspot.com/

    Try that on a 450!

Same motor in both the 690SM and ADV. Go take one for a ride and you'll get it. It handles very similar to a 450 despite the extra heft, and you can wring on them all day long. I didn't believe the hype either, until I rode one.

I need highway speeds to be acceptable. Plus a bigger motor would be fun.

I want to go ride one but I think I'd have to leave with it afterwards :D

I thought Sturgis was all about riding TO Sturgis? ;)

I went last year, definitely not my scene, had an artist friend who was showing her work at the Buffalo Chip, an we were camping across the road. Forget about sleeping, its just blaring music and loud bikes 24/7. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

Riding to Sturgis is great and all, but it's also 1400 miles each way which would take a LONG time on a bike. I hear you about the camping, fuck that. We have a ridiculously over priced hotel in Rapid City, a few miles outside of Sturgis. We are not hard balling this trip, say what you will.

1400 miles isnt that bad. i rode from south georgia to philly in one day. although id rather have only done about 500 miles. the next day i rode to canada so about 1400 in two days. i almost rode to sturgis while i was on that trip but ended up not doing it since i was riding by myself
