Yeah definitely seams so, solid drill press, and the vice alone would have been at least $30.

    Can ya spell Tonneau

This is kinda funny. I stood many hours in my Dad's shop in front of a Trans World Steel drill like this one. It's an older import, made in Taiwan. What people joked was one of the things made from recycled American cars at the time.

Even so, I'm sure it is twice the drill that my Chinese Skil press from Lowes is. Great buy.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
It shouldn't cost too much unless they have a min charge. One tube rolled out shouldn't take more then 20min with a power roller. There is some waste when rolling so you have to take that into account. 50 or 60 bucks would be a good price for that part unless you were supplying the tube as well.

They could have a manual roller those take a lot longer to use. I'd do it for $60 bucks but shipping would most likely kill the deal.

Kase, I have the harbor freight tubing roller. Unfortunately I don't have the 1.75" die, but if you want to roll 1.5" tube you're more than welcome to use it.

Edit: If you want to use the roller be sure to bring some muscle with you. Bending tubing to that tight of a radius on a manual roller is gonna take some strength.

This is the flatbed that I'm working towards building. So far it's a model in sketchup but I'll be ordering steel soon. I'm looking for any constructive criticism you fellas might have.

The material will all be .120 wall, either square or round. The large box below the deck is a Jobox storall.

The very best sign I've seen was along hwy 880 near Oakland, CA. It said "Stop Casting Porosity". People used to think it was anything from religious to some weird cult. You could ask 10 people and get 10 different answers.

It was atop a shop that casts statuary. Pretty cool place.

For those of you who do this as more than a hobby where do you work and in what part of the industry? I just landed my first welding job and am really excited to start.

Had to do alot of testing.
    Initial 6G test-
Carbon "Monster" Coupon- TIG root, hot, & 1 fill then 7018 out
    1" schedule 40 Stainless

Then 10 welds in a restricted access jig-
    2 1" stainless in 2G
    2 1" stainless in 5G
    2 2" stainless in 2G
    2 2" stainless in 5G
    1 2" carbon in 2G
    1 2" carbon in 5G

The initial 2 had to shoot X-ray and then 8 out of 10 in the jig had to shoot. I shot 12 for 12 and start at $39.43/hr. Don't think I could do much better than that.

    Congrats!!!

I work for a process piping company out of the Sacramento area. Started when I was 17. We do stainless pipe and fractional tubing. Specialize in breweries, wineries, and other food and beverage. I've been all over the states. I was out your way in Asheville, NC last year working on the new Sierra Nevada brewery.

nice job! I work mostly in heating/ cooling with a touch of process tube thrown in. its a lot of food-plant stuff so decent amount of stainless.

finishing a chilled water job at a college right now that is all Victaulic so I haven't touched the welder for a few months! kind of how it goes for me but my eyes are open toward oil work or boilermaker. . . . . .

what mess did you find yourself in? looking at your tests im guessing boilers?

I fabricate elevator shafts for my job. Mainly the agricultural type. Everything is 1/4" or thicker steel for the structures. Don't do any stainless or aluminum.

Got tired of the problems with my miller machines and my buddy works for snap-on so I got a chance to use one for a bit before buying. Unbelievable welder. 100% duty cycle at full amperage.
