hey, there is a large contingent of SoCal Taco owners, probably many that are real close to where he lives, I'll bet that if like 3 or 4 showed up the parts would be off in no time, and the perp would then have to pay shipping (probably wouldn't be able to refuse) to get the parts to you...

there is NO REASON for you to have to source parts and pay for them, you got ripped off, I would be more than pissed, and as a matter of principal I would be knocking on his door, even if it was 50 miles away...

just sayin'...

That totally sucks. A few of us are dealing with someone elsewhere on TW who accepted payment from a bunch of folks, never sent stuff, and has stopped responding.

Not gonna out him yet either, but lets say paypal claims have already started happening.

Very disappointing for anyone to do this on TW, especially considering we all communicate with each other.

This is very disappointing to hear. Does your payment method allow you any options? It works in your favor that you know where he lives... In your shoes, I might consider talking to a cop local to his home and asking him to accompany me on a visit. This will really show him you don't intend to let it go, and that the law is on your side (though it is basically an empty threat without a lawyer). You could tell the cop you are afraid of what might happen when you confront the guy who ripped you off. In the past I have found authorities to be reasonably accommodating. Or, you could take the softer approach and tell him you are coming with your tools, and ask when is a good time. If he resists, mention the cop idea. Really, the goal is to find ways to motivate him to do the right thing. And if he is reading this now, at least he will get the message you have a lot of folks on your side, some with pitch forks...

well I went to his house, didn't think he would do this knowing I knew where he lived.

 

Maybe you went to one of his friends house? Why don't you give him back his parts and get your money back? Drive over there with the parts and either get the rest of the parts or leave the parts that you got from him with him and get your $$$ back? JAT

 

BTW it is a civil matter between you and the seller.

x2 I say group shit in his build thread. That will get some views. Especially seeing as the last post is the same stuff you bought from him and he's asking for recommendations, I'd recommend him to get you the rest of your stuff.
