Seeing as how the Sept seems to be taking an eternity to get here, I figured we should plan another one for October sooner rather than later so we don't have to wait as long between meets and everyone can still make plans far enough ahead of time.

So, where we gonna meet in October?

    A few suggestions:

Padre Island National Seashore - A good chance to drive through some deep sand. The island is essentially one big long strip of seashore. You can usually go a good 10mi down before the sand gets too deep for 2wd. Could be some surf fishing, BBQ, and a good long 60mi drive down to Mansfield channel (and 60mi back) for those who want a 4wd expedition challenge.

Long Ranch Offroad Park, Llano TX
    - Some dude who runs an offroad park at his ranch. A good variety of stuff to do; Rocks, Dirt, Climbs, and mud. I had a blast the last time I was there and 2wd can easily drive around the ranch to see some scenery.

    Hidden Falls Adventure Park

    Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I wouldn't mind checking out PINS.

It's quite a drive from College Station though.

Ah...reminds me; I need to buy some basic recovery gear.

PINS, Wheeling at day, fishing at night? Could be lots of FUN.

    South Llano sounds cool too.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Killeen. Maybe because I haven't heard much about it lately. Is there already a thread for it?

Okay, I sent him a PM to see if he's still planning an October meet for Killeen. If he is I'm definitely not going to take a dump on it and plan another meet anywhere close to the same weekend.

I like the idea of rotating the meet around the state and as such am really contemplating this Barnwell Mountain since the recent meets have been in central TX. We might even draw some folks from Louisiana, Arkansas, or Oklahoma.

In November or December I think I'll be making the long trek out west to Big Bend Ranch State Park which is supposed to have more trails than Big Bend National Park. Maybe we could make a meet of it and even get some folks from New Mexico to come?

I don't know the area, and some have said it is not all "that" great. I am camping not too far away, so I was going to go check it out. Obviously, if it is better than expected.. we should probably plan a trip/camp out there. I was told Big Bend was lame for 4x4, but Big Bend Ranch might be different. If anyone has previous experience, please talk about it.
