Do they still have a ton of seaweed lined up on the beach after 61st? Or has it been cleared?

I think they usually clean the seawall side of the beach. Seeing how it's a tourist hang out. Try to find the seawall cam. They have live feed of the water conditions

When I went there for the 4th of July weekend, the beaches were cleaned. Except for that one area from 61st on up. It was like the sea weed dumping ground.

Bah, I'll never get my answer.

Anyway, Which way do you guys go? I have 3 options here and yeah Dennis you're right, it isn't that far from Galveston. I thought it was like an hour extra.

Avoid the Buc-ees in Luling on I-10 on Sundays, that's for sure. There must have been over a thousand people there this weekend. It was madness.

I have never been out to any of the beaches down near SLP. Are we just meeting somewhere out on the beach not far from where the pavement ends or driving down the beach and setting up shop further down?

SLP has a big open area on the beach to meet at. And I think there's a corner store about 10 minutes away from the beach that people could meet at. But it's on the north side of the bridge.

Just look for Devin's truck stuck in the sand. I'm sure that's where all will gather.

I will probably be buried right next to him for another reference point. But i ordered my rear shackle, D-ring and recovery strap just for the occasion. If that doesnt work, i will just chill in the sand, drink the rest of my beer, and listen to the Texans game that evening.

I haven't even thought that far ahead yet. I normally go up to NY that weekend for a fishing tournament with my dad every year, but i think i am skipping that this year. That's why i was a maybe for the meet-up. I will exchange numbers at the Refinery on Monday.

Getting stuck in the sand then having to listen to the Texans lose? You're a glutton for punishment.

It won't be that bad. There's just 2 or 3 main areas where you may get stuck.
