That's why the frame on my 13 has undercoating on it :). FYI my 00 and 04 both had solid frames, only my 90s trucks were rusty. I'm just busting balls on 1st Gen nut riderz.

    Wong?

Hey, we share a common engine option. It counts.

Everybody who's saying that the LBJ issue on 1st gens is a non-issue because it's a wear item should bear in mind that a design that allows something (especially a wear item that is expected to eventually fail) to fail in a catastrophic way is a poor design.
For example, a LBJ design that detaches and causes you to roll your truck if you're going faster than 10MPH when it fails. Yes, ball joints are a wear item. However, since there's no scheduled replacement interval for a ball joint, prudence would dictate a design that allows for a non-catastrophic failure.

2nd gen people: A bad ball joint design for the 1st Gens doesn't make 2nd Gen trucks better. The ass on my '99 didn't shimmy even half as much as the ass on my '10 does. However, the '10 hauls ass up the on ramp to I-95 a lot better than the 99' ever thought about. Different strengths.

But, feel free to keep :stirthepot:
    It's amusing.

Time to go to Warped Tour, should be interesting... Haha

See if I can get away with some pictures even though you're not supposed to bring "professional" cameras with you.

Yeah I know If I came I'd just have to be someone's co-pilot. Or maybe Lauren could bring me a horsie to ride around

    Derp.
An inspection interval isn't a replacement interval.
Even assuming that the casual owner/offroader has a Factory Service manual, if you inspect and grease a ball joint at 90,000 miles, then rip the boot during a stream crossing and flush the grease at 91,000, odds are that ball joint isn't going to make it the remaining 14k to the next inspection interval without failing. Hell, it might not even make it the next 4k recommended for severe service.

Besides, the primary point that I'm making is that a design for a wear item that allows for catastrophic failure when failure occurs is a bad design. Probably was a contributing factor for the design change in the 2nd Gens.

The dealer offered me $2000 more than I paid (with the problems I've had with the car it seems logical to get rid of it) and I'm financing 3 grand which should be paid off quickly
