Inspection intervals are different than replacement intervals.
A replacement interval requires replacement of the component in question, regardless of apparent condition (for instance, the timing belt in a 3.4l). It's a scheduled maintenance, just like changing the oil or rotating the tires.
An inspection interval is simply a condition check, with replacement if deemed necessary. Obviously if the component in question fails the inspection, it'd be replaced. However, component inspections are open to interpretation. One mechanic can pass something that a different mechanic would fail, and vice versa, even if they're both using the exact same tools and techniques. Clearly a ball joint that's ready to pop loose would fail the inspection, but one that's borderline between 'good' and 'bad' can slip by, even if it's tested correctly.

FUDB i for one have less rust than most 09+ i've seen. I can go put mine next to a 2010 and a 2009 that BOTH have double the surface rust or more than mine.

I love my MECHANICAL LSD and don't care for the electronic fake, brake operated limited slip on the 09+

I also like not having traction control, airbags all over god's creation, and i like not having stability control that will take my throttle from meh

If you've ever spent time in a shop you'll know that there's no such thing as 100% accuracy when it comes to component inspections. When you're talking measurements in the 100th's of an inch, good luck getting different mechanics to agree on something.

Clearly you've never tried to convince somebody to replace something that's at max/min spec but isn't actually 'broken' yet. Probably one of the biggest headaches a service writer has is trying to convince Joe Shmoe of the value of a preventative replacement.
