Alright guys, my battery has died twice in the past 2 days. I think it's on its way out.

What are you guys running? I'm thinking of running to either O'reillys or Vatozone here this afternoon.

I had my radio playing while I changed the oil (~30mins) and the truck wouldn't start up or even roll the windows back up.

I think optima batteries are good. Pretty sure thats what Bama toy includes in his stage 3 electrical system upgrade kits. no clue if they sell those at auto zone/oriellys..

If you're getting a cheap battery, why not pay less. Costco battery will get you the same thing, cost less, and with a better warranty.

If you want a sealed gel cell, Die Hard Platinum or Optima.

They do. I just can't justify optima's anymore. They use to be rock solid but I've heard stories of them having problems since they moved production to mexico.

I might just look into the duralast gold/yellow since it's half the price and just as good of reviews. The Optima's just look so pretty.

Duralast and Optima are both made by Johnson Controls (in Mexico). Just saying....

My JC Optima red top in the wife's 4runner is 3 years old and running strong.

Good to know. that seems to happen a lot.. Companies expand too fast/get bought out then the product flip flops and turns to shit. Don't know the whole story but I'm sure they did it to either expand or save $..

Edit: Thats funny they are made by the same company.. ^

Johnson Controls acquired Optima Batteries Inc, circa 2000, and moved production a few years later.

I had one of my techs install mine with daystar cradles... went hella fast on a lift. Pretty much cut off the bumpstops with a high speed chop saw, mount the brackets, line shit up, tighten and route hoses, then leak test. Definitely get the Daystar cradles, makes a huge difference if you throw your truck on a lift ever, wont rip the bags. Some places won't service your truck without a 4 post instead of a 2 post for fear of tearing the bags.

Cradles or bags? Cradles I can get on Amazon with my Prime account for I think $74. Haven't looked terribly close at the bags yet, me and the fiance want to get kayaks and that'll also demand a way to transport them so I'm holding onto the money for now. Roof rack, Tracrac, bed extender and rope, etc,.
