If piston is the Dodge in that analogy, I wouldn't go near it :D

I wasn't trying to stir the pot, just get opinions. A piston system would add a lot of cost to my build so this one isn't getting one. After the last couple pages, I'm leaning more toward a mid-length system (I started with the intention of running rifle length).

I will wait for the Serbu SU 15 for my next piston AR upper, if they ever release it. Long Stroke piston upper that takes Milspec barrels and bolts.

    Very cool.

What I want to see is some progress on this Desert Tech MDR thing. I hope that isn't vaporware.

Those things are pretty neat. Expensive as shit and I've heard the stock trigger isn't the greatest but neat none the less. Can't say I see myself owning one anytime soon though.

Bullpups are the future. I don't know why people are still producing semi-autos in the conventional form. So much space and real estate is wasted just on the stock, while bullpups utilize pretty much 100% of the rifle for function.

The trigger is pretty much the last hurdle for bullpups to become the standard configuration for all semi-auto rifles IMHO.

I support Israel and all, but if I have a choice I'm going with a "Made in USA" sticker!

Work great in AKs. They belong there. Keep your ARs DI.

Their are pros and cons to DI and piston so you have to ask once again what your intended purpose is. They do not fit my purpose so I don't deal in them.

DI is more accurate because of the free floated barrel
Piston is cleaner in the chamber and superior when suppressed.
DI is lighter and less expensive with less overall upkeep.
Piston is more expensive but more tube able in the gas department.

I would only buy a non retrofitted AR15 piston gun like a LWRC or PWS. I would not retrofit a DI rifle personally. That's just me.

Oh and with all that said I just reduced the price on all my uppers and added in a stainless line of 5.56/.223wylde barrels. They are guaranteed sub MOA
