I have a 2007 DCSB 4wd V6 with an ARB front bumper that is housing a winch.
I'm running 5100's with OME 885 set on the 2nd from the bottom setting. My rear suspension consists of stock NON-TSB leafs with AAL. One leaf on each side is currently broken. My truck sits dead level. What I'm saying is that my front has sagged enough that its equal to my worn out broken rears! It also rides like crap.

Because of the rear leaf issue I bought Dakars with the extra leaf. What coil spring can I install with my 5100s to match my rear leafs?

I bought the Dakars with the additional support because I tow a lot, and I haul bikes etc. I'm also planning out my design for a high clearance rear bumper too. And by design, I'm most likely "designing" which one I'll buy :D

886 is for bumper and winch. I don't recall if you can run this coil on the 5100s. Someone else might be able to chime in.

When did you buy the 885s, they have new ones now that don't sag as much.

For that much weight you should really have the 886s (886x or 2886, the new numbers are something like this).

    They're about a year old.
I thought I read somewhere the 886 and the 5100 was a no no. Something about the 5100 cant handle the spring rate of the 886. I hope I'm wrong.

That was my thought. If you can swing it, get the OME shocks..they're designed specifically to work with the 886 coils.

Yeah I believe running 5100s with OME coils on any setting other than 0 is also a no no.

Exactly. The 885s aren't designed to handle that much weight.

Maybe it's just my OCD, but why try to mix and match and pose potential issues to something when you can just save a bit more and buy something you know is going to work together and do it well. No offense to the OP or anyone on TW running Billies with OME coils, it just doesn't make sense to me; that's all.

Again, no offense to the OP or anyone else, It just costs more in the end to the OP to run 886's he now has to purchase new front shocks too. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.

    [/small rant]

No offense taken at all. I appreciate all the feed back I can get. When I called Toytec to buy what I currently have I was told it would work and wasn't an issue. At the time I didn't have the ARB and really didn't understand the differences in all the suspension components out there for our trucks. In retrospect I wish I had originally bought the OME setup. At this point I was curious if there was a spring that would work with the 5100's and accomplish my goals whether OME or another brand.

Basically from the responses I'm getting, and please correct me if I'm wrong, If you want to run a heavy bumper/winch setup and achieve roguhly 3 inches of lift, there isn't a good combo for the 5100's

The spring you need requires a high spring rate to support all that weight in the front. The only other one I can think of is the eibach 700lb spring but I don't think those will work on such a short spring (5100) I think you'd have to buy a different billy shock. So either way, you are looking at new shocks. I think.

i was told the 620lbs toytec spring on the second set of 5100s would give 2.75 then with my soon to order brute force hybrid and winch with cable line it would sag .25. but i guess if u want a full 3 inch then u need new ones. I like some rake.

Now that you've brought that up, I was surprised at how short the 5100 is. The KYB I took out of my truck was longer than the 5100. I should probably just go back to that shock, they're brand new lol

If it were me, order the 886 with nitro chargers assembled to make the install a breeze. Post a thread in Buy/Sell for the 5100 and 885 to make some of the money back.

Just to stir the pot for a moment, I'll just say that there are numerous accounts of ome shocks topping out really badly with ome 886 springs. Doesn't sound like the 'right part' to me. Not nearly enough rebound dampening perhaps? I've yet to find any instances of people running 886's on 5100's (on the lowest setting only) that find the pair mismatched...or had any 5100 failures due to that pairing. 886's on any factory Toyota shock is no good but the 5100's seem to hold up from what I could find. It also appears that the 5100's have more travel than ome shocks in the front. So, I would just say to do more research on the 5100 and 886 route. Find the folks that actually use this combo...not those that theorize on this combo. I'm, as always, open to any information that disproves what I've said. I'm always looking for the truth! Especially since I've been researching this whole 886/5100 deal vs the full ome setup.

My 885x's have sagged out quite a bit. I carry a lot of weight, thinking on going up to .85 on the 5100's to see if I can get the hight back. But will it just continue to sag more, I don't know.
