If you do the math right sometimes it's cheaper keeping an older vehicle with poor mileage than it is buying a new vehicle that gets better mileage.

And sometimes buying a newer vehicle that cuts your payments in half is more practical. ;)

But then the CELs eats up the money you just saved :cookiemonster:

I wasn't telling anyone how to live their life. I just made a statement, not even directed at Corey. Getting a bit defensive? lol

Need some help folks. Got new tires yesterday. 265/75/16 Toyo Open Country II. Current psi is 65. Should I drop down? I think manual says 35 psi at that tire size.

I did that stuff in middle school, ha. Just need one formula, used twice. Inverse tangent since a and b were given (since we know it's a right triangle)

    Not sure if serious

Unless the car you are buying to save gas is virtually the same price or cheaper (same goes for insurance) you almost always save money keeping the car with poor mileage. Even if you are a couple thousand over breaking even can take years

Discount Tire loves to do that crap

"but our books say you must do ginourmous PSI because your tires are load range E and we're too 'tarded to know your truck doesn't weigh the same as a garbage truck!"

Depending on what you're buying to save gas with. When I was commuting 75 miles round trip I bought a Ninja 250 for $1500. I put 9000 miles on it that first summer, and at 70mpg vs the 18 I was getting in the truck I had at the time I practically paid for the bike just in gas savings that first summer.

However, even if you buy a commuter car for $1500, it does take a lot longer to recoup what you spent on the car in fuel savings, since you're not getting 70mpg with it.

    Heh.
I do not miss 4 cylinder towing.

Drop to 35 a tire and do a chalk test to see if you need to add or remove air
