I saw my first Tacoma "Limited" edition today, here's what you get.

The $38,000 and some change includes.....

*nice leather seats
*seat heaters
*no bedside badging
*plastic chrome wheel covers that look OK but surely will be destroyed by a curb. Similar to what an upper level Ford Explorer has.
*the bed cubby holes on the 5' bed are missing
*chrome LIMITED badging on the rear side of the cab
*chrome door handles
*this one didn't even have a chrome exhaust tip!
*TRD chrome grille surround
*JBL sound system

Other than that.... its a plain old Tacoma with a big sticker price!

 

Pretty sure it comes standard with NAV too. You can get the full list from toyota's website if you build one out.

Yeah, the chrome is too much. Hell, any chrome is too much chrome IMO.

I guess I'm old school, I like the chrome bumper and door handles, really liked the leather seats and heaters. Lack of badging looked empty to me but many of you guys debadge anyway. I didn't like the LIMITED badges, they were off of the 4 runner. I thought that the price was "stupid" too.

I saw this one on the dealer floor while I was getting some paperwork done today and yes, it's the first one that I ever saw.

 

I bought mine last December in Seattle. I knew they weren't hot sellers and I waited until mine had languished on the dealer's lot for 90days before pursuing it. The sticker price on mine was thousands less than 38K and I got a good deal on a slow selling model. If you think the price is "stupid", the Tundra parked next to my Tacoma in the showroom was festooned with added-on costume jewelry and marked at over 50K.

The heated seats aren't leather, but a simulated leather called "Softex" that's used on other Toyota models. They look good, feel durable, are easy to clean and don't need any maintenance. Limited's also come with NAV and JBL. The only truly heinous touch on them are the "chrome clad" wheels which are an industry staple at the Big 3 and nothing unique to Toyota. I changed them out a week later (and sold them on Craig's List).

To say the Limited is an embarrassment to Tacoma's is ridiculous and asinine. Aside from the rear bumper (that Toyota put on lesser models for years), the door handles and mirrors, there isn't enough chrome on them to make an F150 or RAM even raise it's eyebrows. Yes, the Limited badges are used on the RAV4. They're also used on the Tundra and other Toyota models in the family. So what?

If you don't like the Limited or any other Tacoma model, don't buy one. If you feel you have to disparage it because you don't like it, knock yourself out. All the other Limited owners I've met enjoy theirs and notice mine. I'm sure the Limited will be back for '15 and Toyota will no doubt sell them all.

 

Leather seems nice. Easy to clean.

i think $30k is too much for a tacoma. that's why i got the 4cyl for $20k. $38k? forget it. no way no how.

chrome is tacky. only thing chrome should be the badging or maybe bumpers. i can't stand chrome grills they put on tundras these days. looks terrible.

Agreed. Mine listed for a little over 35k but it has every option on the list. Now I just have to get rid of this shitty chrome rear bumper.

Yeah no doubt. Someone REALLY wanted to know they had a Limited.

 

I hate chrome. My opinion. Just like the guy that's says my blacked out badges are stupid or the guy that hates black rims. His opinion. Hell I really don't see where it's that much worse than an OR as far as chrome goes. Ditch the rims, but that's back to opinion. I'm not gonna talk shit about them. There are people on here who have them and like them, same as I like truck. Is what your getting worth the extra money? Doubt it.
