Just Checked my VIN for a recall and saw this.

My brother's has the same truck as me, 2007 Tacoma DCLB. He just got a notice for recall to get his frame inspected to see if he qualifies for some kind of solution to the rust. Probably just a spray.

I checked my vin on www.toyota.ca/recall and it came up with this

173 - WARRANTY COVERAGE EXTENSION FOR TACOMA (REVISED 07.28.2014)

Anyone had it before or know what it means?

 

I do not know, but with the first gens they extended the frames warranty by 15 years after they inspected and sprayed it if it did not need to be replaced.

Just assuming it's something similar.
