well not sure. It depending on your driving. I don't drive hard in the city or freeway. On the freeway I always use cruise control and didn't care all of the vehicle pass me. 70% HWY and 30% city.

I usually get around 290-310 miles between fill ups. City gets about 18 mpg and hwy the other day netted me 20.5 mpg. I have a six speed double cab 4x4. It depends on how you drive it. Heavy foot = lower mpg. Resonable use = descent mpg. Prius = good gas mpg. If that is what you want buy a Prius not a truck. :)

I noticed this, too. A couple weekends ago, we took our 2009 double cab on its first road trip. At the time the truck has approximately 400 miles on it. We went maybe 100 miles on the freeway starting with a nearly full tank. The truck carried two people plus baggage for 2 days (~400 lbs). I was able to use the cruise control almost the whole way. When we got to our destination we had almost exactly a half a tank. If the Tacoma holds about 21 gallons of gas that comes out to something like 10 MPG on the highway. That's pretty dismal even for a truck.

I've been told that is normal for new trucks as the computer is still learning how you drive. Now, I can see getting somewhat less than optimal MPG when the truck is new, however 50% worse MPG than what it is rated was very shocking. Since that trip, I've noticed that the MPG has steadily risen as I've driven the truck more. Now I'm getting somewhere around 17 MPG doing mostly city driving. So, I'm holding out hope that it was a case of "computer learning" and not something being out of whack.

I got 16.8 this morning on 85% city driving. That is about .5 better than my last tank. I switched to Amsoil before this last tank, and hit 5000 miles. I think it is getting a little better. All previous tanks before 500 miles were in the low 16's on MPG. Lots of city driving.

Yeah, i'm getting around the same. If i pay attention and try, i can make it last to 300, but otherwise i get about 280. I don't have a scangauge so ican't really tell for sure though. I just did math with all my driving and i do city and highway everyday so it's kinda hard for me to get exact figures on each.

Did my Fuelly calc today and I'm getting 19.5 mpg - 2WD, 89 octane , I'd say about 80% highway miles , tank lasted me 330 miles....which seems about average.

My normal drive at home consists of rarely any highway driving. Essentially all city and I've been getting around 15.5 and the trip I took last weekend that was about 75% highway I ended up getting 20.42. Overall I'm satisfied since it's right on par just about with what the truck is rated out. My Impala SS was rated at 16/24 but I never really saw over 12 city.

That literally identicle of what I get with 09' Sport...when it was stock.

Now with the 285's I'm starting a new count.

So far 47 town miles has eaten a 1/4 tank.

Its not looking good for the home team on KM2"s!!!

My drive is pretty similar to yours. I get ok mileage, not as good as my wife's corolla though obviously.

I just filled my tank 349 miles (light was not on yet) 17.1 gallons 20.4 miles per gallon. Blended driving more highway at 77 mph than anything but some city driving. Trucks sweet spot for mileage appears to be just under 60 mph.
