It could be lost in the translation of the written word, but to me, all of these questions make you sound defensive. That could be way off the mark, but we're not face to face so I can't tell.

At any rate, I think black rims are played-out. I also think spacer lifts and larger offroad tires on a PeeRunner (2wd) are stupid (spacer lifts on ANY truck are stupid). Simple as that. In keeping with the OP's intent, those are the tackiest mods in my opinion.

I acknowledge I'm an old grouch now, and I DID think some of this stuff was cool when I was younger. :D

All of this has probably been said, but:

    tons of chrome stick-on decals
    stick on vents
too tall of a lift, to the point of it being ridiculous
too many stickers on the back windshield, to the point it blocks vision
offensive stickers - like "f*ck 'insert politician' " stickers
    spoilers
    undercarriage lights
    truck nuts

I'm not critical about most things (like the model of truck or type of lift). It's to each their own and whatever the person wants to use their truck for.

Yeah, there's not always a way to sound how you like, without coming off as defensive or even passive-aggressive. I was just making the point that "black rims on a 2wd" was a bit of a strange peeve... and that I felt the real point was that he felt 2wd in general was stupid. Just thought it was strange to call out such a specific thing like that.

I do fall into the category of a lot of tacky mods, it really doesn't bother me. Heck, I'd be a hypocrite! Being that I've stated some things I don't like. Life's too short to have your feelings on your shoulders!

As for me, I have my reasons for my lift (not spacers) that I am happy with, so that's all that matters. I also got slightly larger tires (265/75R16) and highway tires-because I'm not gonna be mudding, and these tires are great on fuel.

    You're not being a grouch :p

that actually kindof looks cool. you would have to be an extreme hunter or be a host on one of those hunting shows to pull it off though. the normal, average guy with that just doesn't work for me. :D

i live in alabama so i see camo everywhere. alot of hunters around here. it's a way of life.

It's all good man! We've all got our own opinions, and "tacky" is very subjective. Pretty entertaining thread.
