    Best pics I could find, but my Taco has a J-shift, always has.

    Some Tacomas are J-shift, others are electronic. Just depends on the model. I know of several Tacomas that are factoy equipped with em. I pulled one of my J-shift tcases from a 4Runner.

    Yes that's awesome, and they are not the same as 2nd gen Tacoma or FJ Cruiser t-cases. My 1st gen 4runner has a J-pattern manual shifting t-case, but like your 1st gen, it is not the same as the FJ Cruiser t-case and will not bolt directly to a 2nd gen Tacoma transmission.

    There is no need to clog up this thread anymore, I was only wanting to make OP jelly of my parts collecting :p
