Supposedly the shackle mount is about 56" from the front spring hanger, which is about right for a 9" shackle, if it was on the bottom of the frame it would droop better but that opens up another can of worms with clearance and negative arch issues, just a little harder to set up right.

I believe those are 50t's, and getting leaf separation between the main and wrap leaf like that, with how much free arch 50t's have, means that it is drooping so far past where it would ever go with the pack completely assembled, the shackle would never come close to swinging that far forward.

A single main leaf will droop like a noodle when you're setting up and cycling, but a fully assembled pack won't droop much past its natural free arch. Thats why F55's get about 15- 16" of travel, F67's get about 17-18, and H70's, Giant 64's.. can get in the 19-20" range.

It should be strapped with the shackle just before 90 degrees, which sounds like he's gonna get about 17" of travel, which aint bad at all.

He can strap it and run it, swap to 12" shackles and new pivots on top of the frame now, or do that shit later.

I say strap it and run it.

The axle is rolling forward and Leafs are flat and it not even close to the frame...give up and go 12" at 52.5?

The bump pad was flat at full droop

Now that I cycled it with both sides it looks closer to 16" at 90 degrees

Your spring perches are welded on?
This is just a leaf swap on a truck that was already built?

I don't know about that pinion angle but it's hard to say with pictures.

Cycle with just the main leaf, get that wrap leaf (leaf under main) off, and I can't tell but if you have the anti-wrap leaf (half leaf above the main) on, it's gonna make the spring angle/arch all weird as you cycle.

Hes using a another members t100 axle already setup ,that was previously setup with over the frame 12" shackle with 50T's. Id say just get 12" shackles and go over the frame.

I'm thinking it's not as bad as you think.
Hard to tell but looks like there is a significant bump pad off the axle tube that could be limiting bump travel, making you think you can get more droop than the spring/shackle combo you have will allow.

18" of travel with LT leafs is pretty much axle tube bumped to the frame.

You can go past the springs being flat, into negative arch a lil at full bump, the anti wrap half leaf is making your springs arch weird at full bump, and cycling with 3 leafs on like that, your prob gonna lift the truck of the jacks before the springs will flex to full bump.

Was reading up on the Solo Motorsport's spindles and I think I confused myself lol Anybody know for sure if they will work with stock LCA's? For first gen.

Also if that T100 axle came off a single cab 2wd pickup, or an extended cab 80's/90's 4wd pickup, or a 5 lug tacoma...

The frame geometry is a little different, which means the pinion angle set into the spring perches may not be just right for your truck.

Or it could be perfect, just thinking about things that could be issues throwing off your shit.

Yes I still have the 12" shackles for sale.
Just trying to see if you can just run what you have.

So the truck has a bed cage/shock hoops, is it bolt on?
If its not, and you wanna go to 12" shackles, you're gonna have to cut that shit off so you can take off the bed and do the new shackle pivots.

Yes, 1st Gens have a ball joint bolted to the spindle, LT kits use the same balljoint, unless you do a uniball conversion, but it all bolts up the same way.

Ok I should be around. Hit me up

Scrolled back a few pages and axle bump pads don't look too tall.

I think your shackle pivot is close but just a lil too far back to get good droop.
I think a lil past 54" from the front hanger would cycle better.
a little past 53" if the shackle pivot was on the bottom of the frame.

A 12" shackle will droop much better if you can get in there to weld it.

Yeah I read that. But some stuff confused me about the lowers. I plan to get UCA's when I get the spindles
