I just took my truck to the dealership. Highly recommend you bring a copy of the tsb with you, otherwise your request is likely to be resisited. They told me the lights are on back order - have no idea when they'll arrive.

I went in Saturday. Forgot my print out of course of the warranty extension... But still after explaining my issue, they agreed and now I have some new head lights coming in on Wednesday

Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
I have a question about the new headlights toyota installed on my truck. Will they eventfully melt too? Should I turn off the DRL's?

Just took my '08 in with 73,7XX miles. Initially the service adviser said I fell outside of the secondary coverage and he couldn't do anything for me, but after I pointed out what the primary coverage of the program is defined as in the Warranty Enhancement paperwork I took with me, he checked his stock and ordered the lights, should have them replaced tomorrow or Thursday, depending on when the new lights arrive.

Big Thanks to tacomaworld!.. If I had not been looking around on this site I would never have known about the TSB for the melted DTRL's. I got brand new headlights installed today. No charge at all.

Nice JayB27.. I really wish my truck came stock with the black chrome headlights. They look way better than the normal chrome I got. Can't really complain for getting new lights for free.

Just to confirm the info on this thread is correct. I had my local dealer replace my headlights this week on my 2010 TRD OR. My driver side had small fractures inside the housing, showed the dealer the warranty enhancement papers and they did it. Originally the service advisor i was dealing with was only going to replaced the one with damage, I called bullshit and asked for service manager. Upon further reading we found it states they must replace both. Now I have nice new headlights. The DRL lense looks different than what I had probably for heat dissapation. So for the CT guys go to Stephen Auto Mall Toyota in bristol, CT.:)

You know what.. I was thinking the exact same thing. But I think its just because the Lens is actually clear and not fogged up. Either way, I can't complain I love how it looks now.

Had them replaced yesterday. The new lights look much better. We'll see how long it takes for the inner lens to yellow like the first set did.

I bought an 06 4x4 DCLB SR5 a few months ago. Today I took it to the dealer to see if I could get the lights swapped out. I thought the DTRL were burned out as a couple other bulbs were burned out when I bought it. I did not have melting, but I have what appears to be cracks on the outer lenses. They told me I don't have DTRL. The service manager told me there was nothing he could do for me. I called corporate and they said they were not addressing the outer lenses at this time. Dealership wanted $275 per light to replace them (I said no way!). So now I want new lights because the yellowing with cracks makes my truck look like crap.

Suggestions for a quality replacement headlights that won't leak, fog up, or yellow? I don't want a light that I have to put a bead of silicone on. Suggestions??

Nope! Mine were so poorly aimed prior to replacement from trying to adjust them on my own after my lift( they were way too high!) It was nice to be able to actually see the road again on my way home from work last night!!!

After reading this thread I am still unsure where the problem is? Is it the lens turning foggy? I keep hearing the word "Melt". What has melted? I need to run out and check my lamps for melting?

You should read more into the thread.. 1st post describes the issue. It's pretty obvious to what is the issue here. IF you dont see any melting in your headlight DTRL then You probably don't have anything wrong. Go to page 8 and you can see people photos of Melted dtrl lens or cracking
