I don't really have a need for transmission temps, but thanks for letting me know. Plus Bluetooth doesn't work with iPhone and wifi was interfering with radio.

U need to no tranny temp to do a proper fill, or u coud wind up with too much, also proper temp to check it.

I think I can manage with out it. Owned tacoma's my whole life. Driven into the 250,000+ mileage never touching the transmission. It is a Toyota after all!

My iPhone works just fine with Bluetooth. I'm using the Engine Link app.

Just wanted to follow up... I contacted the manufacturer and they said it was probably just a bad unit. They had a new one sent out within 3 days with a pre-paid return envelope for the defective one. The new unit works perfectly. Amazing customer service.

Now onto what I've learned from Torque! I ran the mode $06 report and failed the first test:

    TID:$01 CID:$01

    - Rich to Lean sensor threshold voltage(constant)

    Max: 77

    Test result value: 111

    FAIL

The truck is also throwing a P0420. The downstream o2 sensor follows the upstream one pretty closely.

Right now I'm thinking replace the upstream sensor and when that probably doesn't work maybe replace the cat (or just live with it). Does the failed test show that the upstream sensor isn't updating quickly enough? Am I on the right track?

Your manual tranny should not have temp sensors, nor the need for them.

    Hey Guys,

I bought the iSaddle Super Mini ELM327 V1.5 OBD2 OBD-II Bluetooth CAN-BUS Auto Diagnostic Tool from Amazon $10.99 and the Torque Pro app $5.00 and it looks like it can provide a lot of valuable info for sure.

I also just bought a 26' travel trailer and I want to get a good baseline of important parameters of normal driving and then when towing the trailer.

What would some of the displays you would be looking for that would be showing from my 2011 Prerunner 4.0L Double Cab with Tow Package (Stock)

    Cheers,
    Chris

this is my screen (i use an old phone that i had the app on so im not interupted by calls and text and i can leave it in the truck on the charger all the time) coolant temp instant mpg trans temp engine load intake temps and throttle position are all i really care about and i think that would be a good startin point for u to look at since ull be hauling.

That's great, thanks for the suggestions. Do you remember where you got your info for the trans temp set up. I have seen a few threads on it and I just want to make sure I am using the correct instructions.

    Cheers,
    Chris

its in this thread several pages back there are two different one that measure the temp at different points, but from my observations they usually run pretty close to the same so i only put one in my primary page

OK so I created these two custom PIDs and now have them as gauges to choose from. So now I am confused as to why there are two and how do I use them. I added them to one of my screens, I haven't been back to my truck to look yet but whats the deal with two gauges?

    Cheers,
    Chris

What is the difference between texting and looking at your phone doing engine things while driving?

Ok set this up and added the two guages to one of my screens.
Keep in mind I live in Phoenix AZ and it's over 100F right now. I have the tow package so that includes the trans cooler.
Does these reading look reasonable and again back to my previous question. Why 2 settings?
