I was at Goddard a bunch as a kid, was a cool place indeed, i don't know if they still do it but they used to have a small model rocketry program as well.... i can personally state ive put at least three into the R&D buildings next door to the visitor center

Haha yea. I've never used That program, but it sounds pretty similar. It's kinda the same idea as BIM models for construction. And yea that is strange. I'd assume it has something to do with how visible energy waves are in water? :notsure:

Haha I think I may have been there for the rocket stuff sometime during my 2 year stay with the Boy Scouts..

you got me. we had a very strong ocean engineering program at the school, but they use their own modeling software for hull characteristics and wave/fluid flow analysis.

what area of structural engineering do you work in? i'm in structural enggineering for my company right now, but am hoping to move into the mechanical processes segment in about a year.

Yeah, it was a small program, i think its been cut since the visitor center lost like half of their budget, that was about the time i got out of the rocket stuff.... after burning three $700 rockets back to back i found other hobbies.... now im gonna burn $$$$ on my truck instead lol

I'm in consulting now, so not strictly structural but we do a lot of concrete/steel/facade rehab work alongside general civil stuff like waterproofing, project management, litigation/investigations, etc. haha so I do more field engineering, but we do have a legit structural engineer in out office who stamps everything and has to review all the reports regarding concrete demo/pouring and stuff. In a few years I'll either take the PE for general civil or the SE. Haven't decided which yet lol

What part of mechanical services? I work with a bunch of ME's but they're mostly electrical/plumbing/hvac design or work for heavy equipment manufacturers.

I'm supposed to have a field position, but they've had me engineering in the office for the last 9 months. That's why i'm looking forward to moving to MD. i'll be back on a job site again.

This project in particular is a natural gas liquefaction facility. so If I can get on to mechanical after we finish the structural work, i'll either be working on the natural gas fired power plant, or the actual refrigeration and compression portion of the plant that transitions the natural gas into a cryogenic liquid.

i'd rather work on the gas side for this job, since have power plant jobs coming out our ass that I can get on farther down the road.

Why is downsouth motorsports 2x the price of wheelers?

Should i have wheelers assemble stock coils to my 5100s set at .85 when i order my full set of 5100s from them?

If your buying new stock coils and dont have use of a good bench/wallmount spring compressor I would just have them do it personally, those compressors you rent from auto parts places are a little sketchy to use if your unfamiliar

Oh i would absolutely have someone else do it, i'm not going to risk tearing off my own body parts in my garage when i can have it professionally done.
So basically, i might as well pay them to do it.

As it stands, i'm going to try to make it until next spring before i make my shock purchase...

Ar, just bring it to your local mechanic. They should have a spring compressor and would be able to do it easy. Got mine done for free! Family friend. Should be like $50 though, and maybe try and find some lightly used coils for less? That's what I did. Got them for $40.

That's just a waste of your truck moneys to get new ones. Not gonna be any better or worse, literally can be nothing wrong with them with 10k on them. Then just find a shop and goin and ask if they can do it or ask a friend where they go, or go to a chain auto work shop. They'll all for the most part have them
