Well....it was in my FB feed. Guess it knows how much I laugh everytime I see the word Rebel these days. Tomorrow ought to be fun...headed out to OW with the Rabble_Taco at 2pm. Anyone else up for a Ocotillo night run is more than welcome to join. Meet up is at the Ranger station at 7pm for the main event with SocalTacomas.

Airdog, so you're saying that to fix that dash light all you did was use a paperclip, start your truck and pump the brakes? That's generally what I got from that post, no computer needed.

I just replaced my plugs at 114k I think for the first time. Jeesh I know! I am useually much better at the maintenance. I don't know why I didn't read or check my manual but I thought they were 100k plugs...oops.

Anyway the gap grew to .60/65 lol otherwise looked fine.

Replaced the plugs cleaned the mass airflow sensor and did a decarb service. Truck runs better.

As usual a little entertainment from Matt ;)

    http://youtu.be/TTwGGWON1vY

Thats his spare tire tryng to run away.

One of these days the rest of you guys have got to get off the fire roads and go to Ocotillo Wells or anywhere but fire roads. Its nice to get out there and use my truck for what i'm building it for...hauling ass thru the desert without the worry of going off a 2000 foot cliff. Matt and I and a few others from SD had a blast until 330 in the morning ripping thru the desert with not another soul out there in our way. I took a 3 hour nap before I headed home , temps were perfect for sleeping with the windows rolled down. Woke up at 630 and drove home...perfect weekend.

Here a shot where my dust light looks light the setting sun...and then there is rabble rabble rabble

Man its 4am and we JUST got home from Corral Canyon. Against my better judgement, I ran Bronco Peak in reverse (uphill) 2.7 miles, took us 10 hours total. We ran into every damn problem out there. It was me, 2 JK's, a TJ, LJ, and an XJ. I had a much harder time than they did, only because the track width and fenders are so much wider than theirs, and my wheelbase is longer. I slid off a rock (raining) and down off the trail, almost rolling me the whole way to the bottom. I was too scared to stay in the truck, so we got out and tried some recovery. I kept sliding further and further off trail at a nasty off camber position, with my passenger side being held down at all times otherwise it would have been a long way down. I gotta say, I was terrified that my truck would be totaled right there, and pretty much came to terms with it.

First few attempts with the winch didn't move me, but then we got 3 Jeeps on me and somehow managed to get me out while I was motoring the gas pedal from inside with a pit bike helmet on. Lol. Actually, I had to literally romp up most of the obstacles in 4lo just because it was so slick and no lockers.

Then we ran into obstacle after obstacle that seemed impossible to conquer, and once we thought we were home free, one of the JK's keys broke off inside the ignition. After 3 hours of taking the steering column apart and removing the ignition tumbler, we managed to start it with a screwdriver and get it going.

Trail carnage report coming tomorrow, when I put it on the rack and inspect the underbody. Sliders and skids saved my life a dozen times.
