I've had a lot of the same problems everyone has had with the a/c overflow tube getting clogged but my usual tactics to unplug it don't seem to work and man its flooded the front of the truck. Is it a pain to remove that evap thingamajig that the overflow comes from?

    Thanks

How do you unclog it? Maybe small burst of air would help. My only knowledge on this is from 95.5 and 96 tacos. I have taken my hvac completely apart without issue. Hopefully someone else will help closer to your yr truck. Screws and clips mostly. Take pics as you go so it will be easier to put back. Must have some funk in there. You could also post a thread when you are done with pics! GL

My issue is that normally you can just stick something through the firewall side and your problem is over, but that hasn't worked. Also it seems like if you park up hill your overflow is working against gravity. I'm thinking I have a clog elsewhere

I had the same problem few weeks ago, and someone here gave me the solution. Basically i just used a hanger to clear the water out of the evap using the nipple behind the firewall. The problem was fixed and hasn't happened again.

I've never been inside it but ya might want to be careful when pushing anything rigid to clear tube, wouldn't want to stick a hole in your coil which is slightly above the drain pan I'd imagine

I think this was my own fault. Somehow the black house from the evap through the firewall wall wasn't attached inside the cab. Can't imagine how the hell is got loose unless it was my messing with it under the hood. Who knows, its all good now I gues

    Lunch Box,
What particular brand of cleaning chemical do you recommend to clean the condensor coils?

We used compressed air/CO2 shot thru the backside of coil (inside shooting outside) to clean the crap out, no chemicals sometimes it reacts badly with the thin aluminum, also it;ll turn the dry dirt/debris into a sticky shit ball of goo that'll be hard as hell to get out, only time we;d hydroblast one is if it was all the way out where we could flip it around as needed...

I should mention that this was residential/commercial A/C apps. but principal is the same...

just compressed air for the outside sometimes people use a degreaser and water the main thing you are trying to do is remove dirt and debris from the coils so you get good air flow through it also clean the radiator and if equipped trans cooler cause if one is clogged you will get reduced air flow through all, if you suspected there is a restriction on the inside you use dry nitrogen, but that would be a indication of other failures.
