I don't live in a ghetto, I don't seek out confrontations, and I'm very happy that you have never been threatened or fear loss of life.

I've been attacked twice and needed my firearm both times to save my life. I'm still here and grateful that I am. In a separate incident my wife was attacked and harmed. We both testified before the State Legislature to get concealed carry passed in the state. I could have died very easily and I just wanted the right to defend myself. We decided to do something about it. We helped to get the law passed so we could carry a firearm. So glad no one has ever tried to kill you.

I sincerely hope you never get into a situation that would require more than your hands and quick wit to save you or a member of your family's life. I will not take that chance.

First off.. I don't live in a ghetto, there are crazies EVERYWHERE. I'm 54 and I have had an intruder in my vehicle that refused to get out. Had I had my firearm that day, he would have been staring down the business end! I have also been in a vehicle where a perp tried to get inside.

KelTek, 4" pocket knife, pepper spray, and a 6' 225# guy with a bad attitude! :quickdraw:

I'm 48 from the Bronx , NY now in NC, I've seen my fair share of shit.
I always got my Ruger LCP 380, but sometimes I have my Browning 40 or Springfield XDM 40.

I rather have it and not need it.... Ahhh Hell, you know the rest

It ain't where you from is where you at.

I have never seen anyone use a fire extinguisher on a burning vehicle. This does not mean it cannot happen to me. I carry a fire extinguisher in my truck at all times. I also carry a Smith&Wesson for the same reason. I never had to use it and hope I never will. There tons of examples where people had to use a firearm to defend their life. Unfortunately the liberal communist media don't cover these stories, they only scream when a gun is used inappropriately.

Maglite makes a quick access holder that bolts up anywhere you want it. I like mine by the drivers seat. Comes in handy for protection, plus... um,.... it has a light on it. :)

I don't use anything here in Canada, but in the USA, I take a "dog spray" canister to make anyone I don't like to back off ..... if they come back again...I have a very sharp hatchet under the seat... They might leave an arm in my lap before I pull away..!!! hehehe

To use as a blow gun? Seems as though that would only aggravate someone if you hit them with it, or core sampled them.

Short of law enforcement and gang-bangers I don't think any victim would have said they knew it might have happened to them while minding their own business.

In the last 6 months (All car related events ) we have had in no particular side of town (good or bad):
-Lady stabbed in NY NY casino garage; they boxed her in and approached the car.
-Car jacking at South Point casino
-Road rage turned stabbing (died) at stoplight
-Father of two killed at stoplight from possible road rage with his two kids in the car.
-Lady sexually assaulted at gas station and car stolen
-Lady shot through windshield (died) at gas station at 5:30 in the afternoon on a Friday in one of the busiest parts of Vegas that time of day.
-Most recently a couple pulled gun on highway service worker when they had car trouble, forced him to neighborhood where they committed two home invasions...killing one and leaving another in critical (likely won't survive according to reports) in an attempt to steal another vehicle.

That's not even counting the string of armed robberies we had in fast-food drive-through lanes for a brief period of time late last year. **** happens and it's not limited to just cities like Vegas or Chiraq anymore.

When it comes down to it, it's a personal choice and decision that everyone has to make on his or her own. I can tell you that I used to think that it wasn't necessary to carry or to have my wife carry (she used to carry and just got it renewed). It wasn't until we had someone try to break into our house when I was deployed and when she was confronted out in town by an idiot that we both started to rethink our own opinion on our personal safety. NOW WE BOTH CARRY!
