Less clunk and vibes than the stock shaft I had. I can live with this for now!

Why'd they make it square? Just curious, I would have thought round would be more apt to balance better. I hope you smeared that thing with never seize so it doesn't fuse to the flange or the drive shaft. Aluminum has a tendancy to do that when placed next to steel.

It turns beautifully with no vibes up to 85! Haven't gone over 85 yet.

And it'll come off again soon to be never seized and the bolts loctited. I left both at home

Loctite??? Aren't they just a torqued connection?

Maybe because Alex probably showed them the squared end of the driveshaft as a template, rather than the round end on the diff? Just guessing, but it seems a logical reason. :notsure:

Mass plates in NH; probably not a bad idea....

    Not in Alex land.

No, I meant in-state. But living at home is definitely the cheapest route.
Best of luck, Alex. Like you said, no one can see the future.

Not so sure about that; I love fixing up old houses, but damned if it doesn't feel like work sometimes...

Keep in mind that is the same Toyota that won't change a u-joint or carrier bearing but rather replace the entire drive shaft... I wouldn't Loctite them but if you feel the need, use the lowest strength. If you continue to off road, chances are this will not be the last time that drive shaft will be replaced so why make it harder on yourself next time?
