Okay, got it all mounted up. One issue I had was the length of the hardware for the faring. With the flat washer and the split washer I could not get them to grab onto the T-nut. The other thing I see now is that I'm going to need two more crossbars to make it ten.

Those factory holes under the rubber strip, does anybody know if those are open through below or are they sealed off underneath the threads?

In other words, if you poured water into one of those open threaded holes, would it go through to the interior? Somehow I doubt it, but just wanted to confirm.

I'd put some silicone sealant on the threads of the screws to be safe.

while the thread clearance is probably pretty tight, it could still leak on its own if enough water collected.

It comes straight through to the headliner. I had the holes open one day in the bright sun and you can see the light shining through right on the headliner.

Ok, so I pulled the center (single) bolt out and looked down in there and saw silver metal. Probed with a wire rod and hit metal. Strange.

Come to think of it the front ones are the only ones I know for sure went through on mine. Middle and rear holes not sure.

This was for a BajaRack, but I rubbed silicone on the bolts that thread into the roof, as per instructions. No leaks yet! :)

Thanks Matt. That's exactly what I did. Not too much though. Just a bit over the last inch of threads. I am not wanting to have the rack on all of the time, year around. I am concerned about re-applying silicone over and over again. Maybe I shouldn't be. It may be no big deal. :)

Zach - would the caprack be able to be installed on a 100R Leer without a problem?
I have not seen the cap in person yet, so I don't have a lot to work from other than I am pretty sure it is the 100R.
    Thanks.

Really I can modify these to fit any cap. If it has tracks installed that is ideal, if not there are work arounds or you can install them yourself.

Sorry if it's already been answered before, but what type of aluminum are you using? 5052, 6061, 7075 or something else? I may want to weld on an addition and match alloys.

5052 is typically what I am using.

If anyone is wondering what the small slots on the bottom side of the rails are. This is the intent:

    photo2-5_zps593a8f17_6d5f7e170e95694ea74a83242b9b7f34e524e21a.jpg

You can see here I have used 1/2" nylon spacers to keep the awning off the rail itself and to clear the screw heads.

    photo4-4_zps1af8f3a4_ea2df61286fc2bec018223ccca5038673384d499.jpg

    The perfect amount of clearance.

The bolts that the arb awning uses are m6. I lost my stock ones so I just used some of the same bolts used to mount my racks to the tacoma. They are longer than needed but all I had at the time. A couple fender washers and lock washers hold it on nice and secure.
