It's not just in the trunk, it's on a tray that slides forward, you have to empty the trunk then slide the tray back to get the tire out.

I hope they don't do the standard Canadian mark up on those prices, because if the Z71 is supposed to be equal to a TRD Sport/Offroad they are going to be priced way the "f baskets" too high. A loaded TRD in Canada is worth about 36 K realistically after haggling plus taxes. Even the limited slips in under 40 K Canadian. A Z71 starts at that sort of price in american dollars . Who in there right mind is going to buy a midsized priced at 50 K in Canada?

    You didn't math hard enough...

    Last I checked 19,010 was less than 20, 995.

And you didn't do a thorough job checking. the 19,010 is a low riding regular cab. Which chevy doesn't offer an equivalent of.

For a PreRunner Access Cab, the Tacoma starts ~$23,000 before the required convenience package, which puts it at ~$24,000. Which is quite a bit higher than the Colorado.

That doesn't account for any big equipment differences, or give credit to the Colorado for a modern engine and 6 speed automatic transmission etc.

In all cases, I fully expect the Colorado will be cheaper than the comparable Tacoma. While the Canyon may match, or even slightly be more expensive, but again, until a full breakdown of specific features is available, it's hard to tell.

A fully loaded Canyon is pushing 40k. With the Colorado pushing 35k.

A loaded TRD Sport or Offroad is cheaper.

I just went off of the article. for the heads up on the pricing differences though. And agreed, until the full list of goodies comes out, it's all speculation.

When I was a child and used to see books in the library more expensive for Canada(US price vs Canada price), I thought it was a charge for not being American. :anonymous:

If I were given a choice between a new colorado and a '14 taco for the same price, I'd take the taco. I have no faith in GM or its bean counter influenced engineering.

I would drive the current issue Nissan Frontier before I would drive any Chevy ever again.

Chevy doesn't have a chance. Even against the 2nd Gen Tacoma - and lord knows the 2nd Gen has had it share of unresolved issues.

More concerned with whether its cheaper to fix issues from the start or solve the problem later (possibly) with a recall.
