I love the look of the F5. The 15 Mustang looks pretty nice also. Better than the Corvette with the Camaro rear end IMO

....I don't think a Tacoma has anything to worry about against a Frontier and a Colorado.

That price difference is for options that don't even exist on the Tacoma...at any price.

Toyota's bean counters have been extra busy lately, hence the growing stockpile of profits lately.

Absolutely correct. Power seats, 6 speed automatic, 300+ HP, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Alert, Easy Drop/Lift Tailgate, HEATED MIRRORS,

I stand by my expectations that once you count feature for feature, the Colorado will be cheaper than the Tacoma, and the Canyon maybe right in line or slightly higher.

Is it me or does that truck very similar to the 2015 Tacomas?

There are people who just got the Tacoma because it is honestly the only very proven midsize truck but there aren't loyal to Toyota. Those are the people that will probably switch to the Colorado/canyon just because its more updated. They care less about the brand.

I am not really a Toyota Fan. I love my Tacoma, but don't care for their cars. Reliable, sure. But they're boring, the AWD ones have a joke of an AWD system, etc. If I were looking for a four door sedan around 30k, it would be a Subaru Legacy 3.6R. No question.

So, while I am not tied to a brand, I am very anti-GM and anti-Chrysler. I don't care if their quality becomes excellent or if I can get a loaded Colorado for half the price of a loaded Tacoma. I won't support a company that should have failed, especially given the circumstances surrounding the reason they didn't.

    The better coast
It's you, because the 2015 tacoma looks just like the 2014.

But as aerodynamics becomes a bigger and bigger part of trucks all front ends will start to look the same and loose much of their distinctive features.

Chevy has the right idea smoothing it out and making it look like the front of a raindrop.

I hope. The 2.5 in the colorado will have 40 more hp than my 2.7 and probably get better mpg. Then there's the 3.6 that has 305 hp

Tacoma is right-sized, and a good target to go after the best in segment.

Agree the side window line looks very similar.

The Ecoboost is a cutting edge motor line that Ford had in development for almost 10 years. If you drive one you can tell that they are no simple bolt on turbo setup. Ford did there homework to get the most low end torque possible out of the motor while still having enough boost to get great overall numbers. I'm a bit biased towards Ford out of the domestics, but even dodge and GM guys admit there is nothing that touches an Ecoboost for power off the line and at speed in the half ton class right now.

The TRD supercharger is basically a bolt on mod to a motor that was designed for a N/A application. You can't really compare the two. If You designed a supercharged motor for 10 years at the 4.0L displacement size you could get far better numbers than we squeeze outta the 1GR-FE.

Now moving back to the conversation, who else thinks with the pricing revealed a diesel Colorado is going to cost full size top end motor kind of money? I can't see them charging less than $3500 for the upgrade, so a diesel should be 40K plus in a decently equipped Colorado. This screams of the same debacle they had when they put the v8 327 in the Colorado. Way to little truck for that kind of money.

Interesting article here. If they're "fudging" the payload stats, could they also be "fudging" the horsepower and mileage stats?

    http://t.autos.msn.com/news/gm-ford-fudging-truck-payload-stats

As far as the Ecoboost motors go, they seem like the real deal. I'm just a little concerned about reliability for the long haul. Only time will tell. I do wish Ford would get away from all the touch sensitive control crap on the dash. And maybe I'm missing something on diesel, but with the increased up front costs, maintenance costs, and fluctuating diesel fuel costs, diesel may make sense for some people who put a lot of miles on or do a lot of towing, but I don't know if it's cost effective for everyone. Just my two cents.
