On a side note, how do you like the rhino racks? I ordered them and they should be here tomorrow.

For the price, ya cant beat em. Fits like a glove, super easy to set up and install. No complaints so far.

Im planning on taking the canoe out this weekend so we'll see how it hold up with 80lbs mounted to it on the highway.

I just use the bed extender these days. Last time I used the Thule roof rack for hauling kayaks was back in 09. Canoe goes on the roof of course :D

Having the long bed comes in handy sometimes.

I wanted the LB, but it wouldn't fit in my garage and I didn't like the idea of parking it outside.

I can get away with it...6' bed and 11 1/2' kayak...bunged in, of course...but it still threatens to rock a bit every now and then. But it's better when I've got the bed cover on it. Wouldn't want to go any longer on the boat like this, though.

Heavy duty hitch extenders are like $70 off Amazon. I use one and my 13.5" kayak rides wonderfully in my 5" DCSB bed.

Will be loading three single seat kayaks in the bed this afternoon, then doing a small group moon light trip tonight (if it isn't cloudy). Will post some pictures tomorrow.

I've been letting the wife paddle my kayak around to see how she likes it, and she's hooked. So, we start shopping for one for her...talking about why she's using it, what color, style etc.

Today, she says, "We should go up to this shop (1 1/2 hour drive) and look at some so I'll know better what to get." To which I suggested we go in the truck. "No, I'm just looking, and the truck uses too much gas, we'll just go in the car."

So we're driving 1 1/2 hours back home with a kayak strapped to the roof of her car.

But, she's pretty stoked about having a new Tarpon 100 in the limited edition splotchy purple/blue/gray/teal colors.

First off, the DIY U bolts on the racked wonders loading it.

I have one and use it along with my roof rack and it works awesome.

Today, we took our first long trip in the canoe. We did 11 miles in a local river and had a blast.

Did more floating and fishing than paddling. I caught probably 3 dozen small mouths.

    That was the biggest smallie.

The T-100 is a superb little boat. I'm sure she will love it.

I bet you wished you'd had the truck. Sounds like a discussion I would have had with my wife. You ain't the lone ranger.

I woulda made her wait until we came back in the truck just for arguing with you about being prepared to actually purchase one.
