Here's one, to be fair though, not much Hilux left in this thing.

It occurred to me to do a search for Toyota of Australia and Toyota of South Africa. The Hilux regular cab has a wheelbase 12" longer than the Tacoma. They also offer a chassis cab. Someone with more interest in the Hilux than I have should update Wikipedia.

^Toyota probably built the regular cab Hilux on the same frame length as the access cab 6' bed and double cab 5' bed.

Indeed, and they all lost to "Mini Coopers" in the Dakar Rally...

Although I would have preferred a diesel option for better low-end torque, I cannot complain about the high-end performance of my recently supercharged 2014 Tacoma DC LB. No recovering upfront costs for me. :D

No kidding... 4 gears? I actually had a Toyota Verso (European model) that used a 2.2L D4D engine (turbo diesel) which I thought was similar to the Hilux 2.5 engine, except with 6 speed. After reading the specs, i.e. 0-62 in 12 seconds they appear to have forgotten to add a turbocharger.

I only believe diesel hype since the family car is a VW Touareg 3.0L TDI which has some 400 foot pounds of torque and handy 8-speed tranny. I hope Toyota can bring something similar to the market here, in a Tacoma flavor.
