    Why?

Haha no. Well currently for the past week and a half I have been living pretty much out of the truck. Basically how I would have if I didn't get the pup . Rather easy.

I let Kase do all the cool mods first so I can learn how not to do it. Now if he would just bob his bed already...

I thought long beds liked the extra bed space? I know I did when I had an access cab

I actually like the space. I just like the look of the bobbed bed haha. I doubt I ever do it. I really want a topper in the future. It would be really nice for the pup when hes bigger.

That does look like it would hold up in bad weather?

They actually hold really well. I haven't picked a brand to focus on but all seem to be great in all conditions. Some are used in artic expeditions.

Huh well I'll be interested to see it.

Shame it's not the same style of tent as my Shasta. I'd take it off your hands. Wouldn't mind the thicker frame and diamond plate base.

Timmy! How easy do you think it would be to make these tipis yourself? Everything seems rather simple in the ultra light ones.

I thought the whole point of the RTT was to be off the ground and out of the elements? Now you want to go backwards?

I don't think that's the point of the RTT but instead just a feature that happens to intrigue most people right away. Just so happens that is part of the reason I will be moving on. Being in the sky means you are away from creepy crawlies but it also means you are going to be in the wind. Most of the awesome camping spots are in a forest with plenty of wind block but damn, when you don't have that wind block...better bring some ear plugs and hope you don't get sick from the truck swaying all around.

Moving back to the ground will be oooo so nice. I will probably toss a cot in the truck bed though so I will still be off the ground when out . The best feature of the tipi is the ability for a stove. I have been fascinated with a small wood stove for some time. They have tons of room, easy set up and a warm home away from home during the 8 months of winter we have. Set it up in the back yard and with a fire ring and invite some people over for some drinks and campfire goodness in the winter. Pretty stoked. Just gotta figure out the financial draw back of all this.

Yep, seems that way. Get yourself a rack that goes over the soft topper! The orange would look good on a black truck.

Check out mountain state overlands blog. They had a link to some tipi's on there somewhere that looked pretty sweet.
