We had a '13 ram. I reset the avg mpg when I picked it up. Averaged just over 14 mpg with heavy right foot, a significant number of miles in low range, and doing 75+ on the highway. About what I was expecting

My Dad says his 11' Ram gets better gas mileage than his old 06' Silverado 2500 (GMT800) did.

The reviews that I've read have all said that the new ZF 8 speed really improves the fuel economy if you're not a lead foot. It'll be interesting to see how that holds up.

I think the 8spd defiantly helped, especially driving normally.

Same here. To date, my 2004 Z71 has required the least amount compared to any other vehicle I've owned (not counting my current vehicle because I haven't had it long enough)

When GM tells me it's normal for a 5 yr old 75K engine to need $5000 of work and it's my tough shit, that clearly doesn't inspire confidence in their product as I see it

My old man has an 11 rock warrior. We were comparing gas mileage the other day. Over 2 years of keeping track of it he's averaged 15.4. Not to bad IMO

When my Outback was totaled, insurance gave me a double cab short box 2014 Frontier as a rental. It was perfect since I had it for a week and it gave me some time behind the wheel of the only competition to the Tacoma. I had already driven enough Tacomas to know what I liked and didn't like about them.

I read in the agreement that I wasn't supposed to take it on dirt roads. ...yeah, right. ;) I did behave enough to stick to maintained dirt. Didn't take it wheeling or anything. Be my luck I'd get it stuck or scrape it up on something.

The thing had a heck of a time getting out of 4 HI for some reason. My Tacoma has never given me trouble with that. Any time it is at all hesitant, it's because I have the wheels turned. Straighten them out, light throttle, and it clicks right back to 2WD. Traction control was super aggressive on the Frontier, too.

Couple things I do wish my Tacoma had that the Frontier did: More upright seating position, cargo light. That's it.

Other stuff bugged me. There's no way I could live with the 3.36 gearing in that truck. It was pretty irritating having it hunt for gears all the time on hilly highways.

I've always liked Pontiac, but that brand didn't have any trucks. My dad used to have all Checy/GMC trucks. Never had any issues with them. My Cadillac was a POS though.

Saw a flatbed towing a FJ40 and a FJ60 earlier. Looked like it was on the way to the scrapyard.

The older GMs I'll agree, had a lot of good ones. The newer ones, not so much..and mainly GM's piss-poor attitude on customer service.

I think it also depend on the dealer. Every one but the 09 was used so can't comment there. But the 09 was brand new and the dealer was fine to deal with. Had to have the drivers door adjusted And the jamb repainted. cause it was rubbing through the paint on the door jamb. Also had the intercooler hot side charge piping crack under extremely heavy driving at an autocross event. No problems either time, no pushback to get the stuff fixed.
