I don't remember doing that, I might have removed a few hangers. I do remember the ebrake cables being tight but I didn't have to disconnect.

 

oh yeah be prepared to buy a lot of diff oil... drain, replace, fill, drive SLOWLY and carefully for about 500mi, drain (check for shards or pieces of crap that shouldnt be there), then refil and drive normally until you need to replace the diff oil again... at 75k miles of driving? or 35... lol cant remember

 

Yours could be longer

I had to stretch mine and use a deep socket to space the one side as I pulled on the other while Chris removed the third. Could be done by one person, but two or three makes it a breeze.

I think the longest part was waiting for the liquid gasket to set before torquing it down.

 

I did the same thing.. Monkeywrench had an awesome write up on how to do it.. step by step w/shortcuts that werent sketchy

 

My longest part was cleaning the chunks of gears out of the housing

I just dont really want them on my taco anymore... its a 5 lug so I had to get them on with some screws and 3M auto tape as far as I know the clips are fine (just one broken clip) PM your number if you want, or email, and Ill take detailed pics this weekend for ya

yea x100 on what everyone else said. call chase at east coast gear supply and he'll set you up. read through the how to thread if you have any questions, or meet up with some of us for the install. It's not bad.

definitely one of the best mods you can do though.

 

I get that, but if there's other options that don't require a missile on board I'm all for that lol. I'm not worried about the tank itself more worried about the asshats on the road that would smash into me with the tank. Most of the stuff you named above doesn't move at all or go above 10 mph

Yes, those are the exact instructions . How many times have you removed a toyota differential? I bet you subbed to a thread for a wheeling meet you backed out of where somebody's aunt's cousin's barber's friends sister's boyfriend busted their ring gear and your uncle showed up and had his buddy's brother's wife's maid's friend's sister's cousin's teacher's son's automotive shop replace it since the shop owed them a favor.

2. since when do toyota tech's install ARB compressors
3. ECGS or whoever installs the locker will drill the hole in the diff
4. more than 4 wires
5. I'm getting tired of typing

 

Or you can have you father in law's shop do the whole thing for you.
