Looking to get a camper shell for my 06' Black long bed. Looking to see if anyone else has one with pictures. And a list of any pros and cons you can think of.

Personally i think if you need a camper shell you might as well have gotten a surburban,
but i know people that swear by them

Don't have one. The pros and cons are all dependent upon how you use your truck.

I had one for a couple of years, but got tired of it. I like the way the Tacomas look w/out it better. It was kinda nice to crawl up and sleep in it though.:)

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
I have never had one or wanted one til now. I absolutely love it!! But I also have a snowmobile trailer to use for larger loads. And if need be, I can always take it off, unlike a suv.

I work in construction and love the security, keep dry, and storage of the camper shell. I have always been a "Ranger guy" and have always had camper shells, like posted above....I can always take it off if I need to (never had to though:D) IMO, I think the Tacoma's look awesome with camper shells!

I like having a shell on the truck. I use it to haul the dogs and my camping / fishing gear. Keeps everything dry and secure - let's face it people suck. Stuff left in the bed of a truck ends up missing in a hurry.

I love mine but I also have a trailer for those large items. If you get one do your own electrical hookups! The kid that did mine butchered the wire harness to my left tail light.

Also if you can get them I highly recomend the "windoors"? I think that is what Lund calles them. It is where the side windows open up just like the back one. I kick myself all the time for not getting them!

Funny story. . .when I ordered it I pointed to the blue Tacoma in the brochure and said "I'll take this one" (100XL). I had a coupon from Leer for $70 off any XL cap. When it came and I went to use my coupon they said no it's and XR? I argued my point for a bit and eventually gave up. When I got home and was looking it over I noticed the tag on the inside that read 100XL??

I guess my answer to your question is. . .I don't know  It is one of the two?

its so nice just to throw stuff in there and not have to worry about it...

and the nicer leer and snugtop ones like the leer 100xq (ozmon420's cap) or snugtop supersport (my cap) lock automatically and they look good too. :)
