Right that's an easy question to answer because e85 and 85 are not the same thing.

ok so is it ok to put the 85 grade in the new 4runners instead of 87 grade

The manual does state to used 87 octane or better. Though, advanced spark control on almost all new vehicles will allow the use of 85 octane. This vehicle is not rated for e-85 ethanol blended fuel.

Be fine. Road trips bump it up to mid or high test.

I don't think Toyota made a flex fuel vehicle. (?) I had to convert my 2k4R. As far as I know any engine destined for the US market starting in 1985 had to be able to run with an ethanol mix up to at least E-85 if not E-100. (this did away with using cork gasket material)

As far as straight Octane numbers, then I can't use anything less than 87 @ above 4000' or 89 @ sea level or I hear the engine ping. E-85 has an octane rating of 110-115.

seems pretty straight forward; seats, rear cubby's, side/door trim peices and center console. i agree to disconect the batteries first too. homertaco's leather install has good instructions for removing the seats you can search for it. also here are two threads discussing this for some visuals of the carpet removal

But don't you have a supercharger. So don't you have to run a higher Oct?
