They have some of the products but you have to order corners and the pipe fittings. You must also use unmodified mortar. I did a huge walking with bench with around 8 heads and was super impressed with all the schluter Kerdi products. The preformed bases are great if the size works for your shower plan.

Walnut cabinets for one section of my kitchen.
Going to switch to a painted and aged look for the rest since I won't see a worthwhile return when I sell.

Yep , read the instructions and you can cut down the bases or add mortar if needed

Looks awesome. I'd love to do something like this to mine. We have carpet on our stairs and I'd love to rip it out. I'm sure the wood underneath is just basic cheap stuff, but would like to sand it down and stain it or something.

They are most likely local to him or he could order online and they carry the product he wants and unlike lumber the Schluter system doesn't come in varying grades , it's all the same wherever you buy it

I would still get a better deal at my local lumber supply but that's because of my long term contractor relationship with them that I assume that poster does not have or he wouldn't be asking that question

Not a great effort by you

SPF grade is Spruce - Pine - Fir , generally at least in our area SPF lumber is generally pine

Ours tend to have Douglas Fir. They also carry redwood.

I am in full agreement with Scottalot, the lumber at Lowes and Home Depot in my area Pa. Del. NJ. sucks. When I get lumber I go to a local lumber yard I.e. Tague or Danby, good quality lumber. Maybe it's an east coast thing. Idk ?

I've watched people buy truck loads of box store boat lumber so maybe I missing something.

And as to referring some one to the box stores its a starting point for people not in the trades and still a decent place to idea gather and figure out budgets and costs for a home owner. Because a majority of supply businesses will actually only deal with trades.

No. I've stopped wasting my time at them. Soaking wet, full of flaws, you name it. On the odd occasion they do happen to have a decent rack of 2x4s, though, I will buy 8 even if I only need 4 just because of the effort.

I have a couple local suppliers/mills I go to for good stuff, especially trim/milled stock.

Fir and pine here not much spruce. My main lumber yard also gets prices I can't believe for certain materials like 8/4 cedar and high quality cabinet grade plywood. And their pressure treated lately has been of an amazing quality. Laid out a short set of steps without having to work around knots and without having to pick through the boards as well .
