What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

IIRC I don't think anyone here has them. They're like $2k, dude. Completely not worth it for any run-of-the-mill IFS taco. The CVs we run are pretty damned good, all things considered. If they break, they can be had for $50-100. If you don't have a locker in the front, you'll likely never break them.

 

Not only that but even if you have long travel they usually just use tundra CV's right? 2k is pretty steep for CV's.. I'm looking at about $450ish for CVJ's w/ high angle boots.

ever find out anything about the tundra swap on our size rims?

Installed Marlin Crawler HD shifter seat. My old seat was in pretty good shape and I don't know if I can tell a difference but at least its one less thing to worry about in the future.

 

Which would be better, paint my stock bumper or bedline it?

It has plastidip on it. But when I take it off road it holds the dirt and mud. Almost like a ghost effect and it really pisses me off. Any suggestions?

 

Paint, I've heard the Bedliner is tough to touch up. Plus I personally don't like it.

Or get a real bumper!

The denso sensors typically come with those new style gaskets that don't require sealant. If you do get one of those older style gaskets, which will work, make sure to use gasket sealant.

 

I went with the auto zone duralast axles a lot of guys run em and the lifetime warranty sounded pretty good to me.

 

couldn't tell you I got em with the truck and they have no markings or anything.

I believe they were 150 something with a deposit you get back when you turn your old ones in.
Or I took the option for the more expensive ones and you can keep your old ones, those were about 170+
I keps my old ones so I could get new boots on em a have some spares

Had to get a new light bar since half of my old light bar went out and I bolted the light bar mounts to the truck so I didn't want it to look dumb with holes on the roof of the truck so I got a 45" double row light bar came out pretty sick after I mounted It

 

Yeah it looks sweet. I want to do the same thing.

 

Just got new rotors, ceramic pads, and a trans cooler for $117 from Advanced Auto Parts. WOOT!
