Anyone have a solution or a product that changes the fuel cap just dangles on the plastic lanyard ? My wife's Honda has a tab on the fuel door that it hangs from while fueling, which would be nice.

Does anyone know of such a product for the Tacoma ?

some of this, a little of that
I hang it off the fuel door tabs, never touches the paint and stays clear of the pump handle.

Is this really a problem? I've never noticed any side effects on the paint over the years on other cars I have driven. Good to know though I guess.

Not yet, but my black truck is a PIA to keep clean. I wasn't OCD about cleaing my truck until this one and I'm trying everything I can to prevent future paint issues.

I've had it a year and I've already considered trading it in for a silver or blue one. First and last black vehicle I'll ever own.

I hear ya, same for me, but the way I look at it in 3-4 years any color is going to look worn, with the exception of maybe white. Not the end of the world, but yea if I had to do it all over again I may have chosen differently.

On my 2010 Tacoma (and those before it) is a clip on the fuel door where you hang the cap... Don't you have one???

There is also the option of getting a locking cap and just set it on the wheel hump inside the bed while you fill up. Even if you forget to put cap back on you will not lose it and you'll have the annoying clunk of it rolling around back there and the cel on the dash to remind you to put it back on.

I just hang it off the plastic piece on the gas door. The piece that holds the door in place when closed (whatever its called).
