So is most of the stuff we all do to our trucks ;)

Yeah, they aren't quit as easy as taking the headlight apart but really not to bad as long as you take your time. I just planned on a full day's work with them so I had plenty of time.

    Thank you :)

    Well that sucks :(

ive wanted to do this for ever. Gotta see the results!

Anyone know if this could be done on the older taillights without LEDs? Not sure if the outside lens is clear or red...

So... Here is the finished product. Paint almost matched perfectly so I'm very happy about that.

I "personally" think they turned out pretty nice. I've never seen a set of color matched tail lights so I like it.

So... Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

You always have bikes on your truck? Or was it just for picture day?

Looks pretty nice and done correctly. Doesn't look sloppy to me. I say if the police don't give you a hard time about them, keep them on. I'm sure you will get some questions from other drivers about them since you don't see this often.

Haha no. But I'm going for a ride today. I'm sick of being cooped up in this house for the last 2 weeks because of this:

    No doubt.

When the bone started poking through I kind of knew I had a problem then. ;)

    Epoxy

You'll want to paint the outside of the lens about 1/4 of a inch from the edge to cover up the inside where you cut and reglued it back together. The prep work is what takes so long (as with any project) but it is also the most important part. Skimp on the prep work and most of the time whatever your working on will end up looking like shit. Patience is something that I've finally learned over the years.

    The white looks badass!

On a side note, how'd you cut your hand? I cut mine on 30 June in almost the same spot on my left hand. It was moving day and I was opening a pack of ratchet straps and was trying to hurry, safety wasn't priority 1 and that was my first mistake. Sharp as hell gerber knife went into my hand pretty deep. I only had to take two stitches though.

    Thanks!

By being a dumb ass  I've got a mount on the handle bar that holds my GPS watch and it is held on with zip ties.

    20140625_132735_zps80a37ac6_260df9dbabf32f6ebabf5ba120b060fa85bd7b66.jpg

I decided I wanted to move the mount to the other side of the handle bar so I grabbed a pair of scissors rather than going out to the garage and getting a pair of dikes like I should have. I had the scissors under the zip tie and my hand on the end of the handlebar like a idiot and the scissors slipped and went straight into my thumb. The worst part (other than being stupid) was the 6 Lidocaine shots that they gave me directly in the wound in the ER. Talk about some fucking pain!

Thanks man. I plan on enjoying them today since I've been off of them for a couple weeks.
