    Hello TW!

I'm new to Tacomas, but spent the last 13 years modding the heck out of my old Ranger - http://66.147.244.152/~georgeo4/silvertank/

The Ranger has been replaced by a 2014 Taco PreRunner SR5, and it's time for the modding to begin. I have a Fold-a-Cover in my garage and also plan to hard wire my GPS. This of course led me to TW and the excellent write-ups concerning interior wiring. I have already scoped out my fuse box, and of course I have questions (doesn't every newbie?)

So, first off it looks like all my available fuses are filled, except for the ones which seem to be blank on all fuse blocks. I have an "add a circuit" but was wondering if any of the empty fuse blocks had accessory power. This would save me from jumpering an existing circuit. Has anyone tested any of those?(the middle one in the top row, or the last three on the right of the bottom row)

Also, it looks like I have a spare connector under the fuse block. I tried to get a good picture, but I didn't want to break the tape that holds it to the wire loom. It's a square connector and the three wires in it appear to be WHT, BLU, and BLK. It's a 4 wire connector, but only has three in it. Question is, what is this for and can I use it to provide accessory power?

Anyways, great site, awesome info and I look forward to providing my own write-ups as I go along.

    Cheers,
    George

Im pretty sure that the connector if for a trailer brake. Do you kno if your truck came with the factory tow package? As far as the blank fuse spaces, I would recommend getting a lighted tester. Not very expensive and if you plan on doing a lot of modding, it'll save you a lot of time waiting for someone else to do it for you on here lol

Mine is a 4 cyl, so no tow package. Weird that it came with tow brake wiring but no fog light connector. Eh, I'll leave that connector alone for now.

I read on TW that the middle fuse hole in the upper row only powers up when the parking lights are on, but I'll check to be sure. I have all sorts of meters and test lights, so I'll test each one and report back.
If none are useable, I'll add a tap on the rear window fuses - 10 or 13, or maybe the power outlet on 5. I'll post my results. Thanks!

OK, all done. Could not have done it without the excellent tutorial by ruppmeister. All the interior trim came off just like he posted. GPS is now back above the dash with zero cord clutter. I ended up tapping a different fuse as the add-a-circuit only allows for 10amps.

BTW - The middle fuse hole in the top row does activate with the parking lights on. This would be great for a fog light switch, not so much for my GPS.
The last three fuse holes in the right side of the bottom row have zero power. Nothing I did seemed to active them. I guess they are not wired.
