So, I recently bought a BMW E60 M5 (S85 5.0L V-10) back in October '13. Obviously, I jumped on the "mods band wagon" and did several mods: ECU tune, custom exhaust, headers, pulley, intake kit, several carbon fiber components, and other mods. It recently dynoed at 515whp!

In the mean time, not only was I absent from TW, but my poor Taco was being neglected and my mod list wasn't getting any shorter lol...

Therefore, I took a break from modding the M5 and recently got back to modding the Taco

I just installed the Spidertrax wheel spacers yesterday. I was hesitant to go with 1.5" spacers, so I decided to go with 1.25" spacers instead. Install was relatively straightforward, and took me about 1.5 hours (would've been faster if I had help).

I really like the more aggressive look (especially with the stock TRD sport 17s). It's subtle, but definitely noticeable! BTW, my tires are 265/70R17 BFG M/T KM2s.

I think they came out great; not overly aggressive, but just right! Be sure to follow the install directions and you should be fine.

Installed the Volant CAI today! Installation time was about 2 hours; most of the time spent was removing the OEM pieces and trying to fit the Power Core on the inlet housing (what a PITA)!

 

Decided to paint my TRD skid plate and repainted it MGM (Duplicolor Perfect Match)! I also removed the spacers so the TRD skid plate would sit more flush to the front valence/bumper.

 

Installed the Rigid Industries grille and 20" LED light bar today:

Nice looking truck! With the Volant CAI, what do you mean with scoop? Also, did you notice any improvement with it? I've been thinking about getting one and wanted see what you thought of it since you have it installed.

 

It has an intake scoop that attaches above the radiator. Basically, it channels outside cool air directly into the filter.

So far, I've noticed better throttle response, better gas-mileage, and better acceleration (both on low and top end).

Coupled with the URD MAF calibrator, we were able to pick up about 16whp!

I think it was a good mod; others may disagree.

I was on the fence for a long time about aftermarket intake systems. After researching Volant, I decided to go with them. It's an enclosed system with a scoop that draws in cooler air from outside and channels it directly to the intake.

Took me about 1.5 hours to install.

So far, so good!
