Ive been having a little issue with my yukon hard core locking hubs they would sometimes take like 10 or 15 turns to un lock. After the trails in MOAB it took way too long and some trails i just drove back to camp with them locked. so I figured they needed cleaned or re-greased.

I pulled them apart yesterday to try and figure out why it was doing that they looked fine and the grease was good.
I found the spacer in the back is not thick enough for the SpiderTrax stub shafts in the ultimate 60 knuckles. When I unlock it the puck is sticking from the grease and sliding as one keeping it locked. It looks to be about .250 to .400 too short. I'll be checking it on Monday when I get to the shop and I'll be turning a larger spacer to fix this issue.

Edit I turned a 0.400" larger spacer and they work like a charm.

Not much done to the truck latley the rear diff has developed a slight humm under light load. Probably from the diff puking gear oil out the breather on long drives. I swapped out the breather out today to a 1/2" hose to help those air bubbles get past the oil in the line.

I also added resi's to the ORI's today.

Jerry, I have to shim my Yukon hubs as well. My inner axles are rubbing on the inside of the axle tube and I have to put the shim between the outer snap ring on the axle shaft and the hub body to keep the axle from rubbing so bad. The shaft started grinding away at the axle tube  I measured the gap to be .160" or so.

That is with a spare tire/ trail ready?

Mine weighs #4,600 trail ready. Not bad weight at #5k. Considering I have D44's and am only #400 lighter I'd say that's a win for you

Not with the spare Id be at about 5200 trail ready with my tools and gear in the truck.

Not much maybe 0.020 or 0.030 i didn't check it but there was nut much movement after the puck was in.

You're making me want to weigh my truck. Maybe I'll get around to it this weekend  You put the puck between the hub body and outer snap ring right? Was your axle shaft rubbing too or was it just hard to disengage? For disengagement, I have to find level ground, leave the truck in neutral and rock it back and forth. They turn nice and easy when I do it that way. Would be nice if they became easier to unlock when I put these pucks in though :D

No Mine replaced the spacer in the back. My problem was the whole assembly was moving on the splines of the axle when I went to unlock them. So they were staying locked even in the free position.
