Any idea what could drain a battery while the vehicle is off and nothing is visibly left on on the truck? is it possible that some sort of poorly wired aftermarket light (i'm no electrician) could do this without the light being left on?

my battery isn't that old and i've had to jump it several times. not sure whats wrong.

anything i should try to troubleshoot before i look at replacing the battery?

Alternator output , Check Battery connections, Improperly installed aftermarket stereo if you have put in aftermarket lights as you say disconnect them see what happens. These are just off the top of my head. There are much better electrical folks around here they should show up eventually.

    Look up "parasitic voltage draw".
