    35 boxes of flooring. Each weighed 40lbs. Plus the wood pallet and 2 adults in the cab. Not the smartest thing ive ever done and it wont happen again. But it worked.

    I haul quite often. Lot of home improvement work. Stove, fridge, car port. used to use it to make dump runs before I got my utility trailer. It may look nice, but it is a truck. And I'm not afraid to use it.

    My next thought is a small travel trailer. 18" maybe. I've seen plenty of Taco's with boats behind them. Some good sized ones. 20" to 24".

    An 18 inch travel trailer is pretty small. Might want to try at least 14'-18' length.

    I tow and haul stuff pretty often. Hunting, fishing, camping, home improvements, firewood, furniture. Almost every week there is something back there. I also tow a boat and a utility trailer with my 4-wheeler on it depending on the weeks activities.

    Yeah. I use my bed for a lot of different things. Mostly for hauling my bikes. But I've hauled many other things also.

    I am the opposite.

    My truck is used as a truck all day, every day.

    Three big totes full of tools and supplies, 6 foot ladder, toolbags etc.
    (Construction).

    And yes, I have a shell on it.

    I have a hard shell for that i used all winter to keep my gear locked and out of the weather. Started a landscape project and hauled loads of you name it, multiple 1.5 ton loads of dirt, sand, pee gravel even flagstone. Makes me really want Dakars now, either way the springs held up!

    I got a soft topper for a deal over a year ago so i tried it on during this landscape project and love being able to fold it down, load up the truck with rock or just take the side windows off when loading/unloading camp gear!

    I wonder if i should have a long bed but the shorty works.

    Its new springs or airbags on the list of next mods tho!

    I've had my '14 Tacoma for a couple of months now and I've hauled tons of stuff with it so far...garage junk to dump, tons of yard waste, my ATV, a pile of flagstone, camping gear, and hopefully a couple of deer this fall.

    I have a soft tonneau installed (link below) and I like it a lot so far. Keeps the bed covered when I'm not using it and it is easy to roll up when the time comes to haul stuff.

    I suppose most of the time my bed is empty, but I go fishing a lot so it carries my fishing gear, cooler, etc. and the canoe goes on top.

    Yeah, if you're not hauling bulk stuff like mulch or firewood, a shell is really nice for keeping the stuff you don't want in the back seat secure and dry. The ideal situation is to have a light shell that can be easily removed for when you do have bulk stuff to haul.

    My family owns a couple rental properties and we do most of the maintenance ourselves. Picking up misc building supplies and hauling crap to the city dump is common in mine.

    When it comes to fun, pretty much the regular. Bikes, camping/fishing gear, etc.
