Confirmed in Ontario (east side GTA) - Mine is going in for replacement in August or Sept. There are a couple others ahead of me.

Service manager said that they had been "watching mine" ... not even going to inspect again ... just doing swap. (No letter yet, they ran VIN to confirm I was part or recall)

Frames that are in good shape will get a special treatment (no swap) Those with too much corrosion are replaced.

I don't know that this is entirely a bad thing

A bad thing would be the frames rotting out without Toyota doing anything about it

Why does my slightly tweaked 1st gen frame have to be the only Tacoma frame across Canada not rotten yet? Haha
    I want a new one!!

Thanks. It's good to know of a dealer that is willing to at least entertain the idea of doing something regarding the frame.
I know on my 1st gen, it was like they were taking it personally.

Let us know how it goes, I hope it turns out well.

    Shawn.

I got a letter from Toyota Canada a few weeks back about the Corrosion Resistant Compound application in regards to frame corrosion. I'll take it in the next month or so to have them check it out, although it doesn't look like there's any unusual/abnormal rust to me.

    Interesting notes on the letter:
    - The dealer will either apply new CRC or frame repair.
    - Inspection & coating takes up to 7 hrs so they will need to keep for 24 hrs, while frame repair could take up to 45 hrs.
    - Direct quote "In addition, as the application of the CRC or any frame repair may take one or two days, your Toyota dealership will arrange alternative transportation as required at no charge to you. Not sure about the disconnect between one or two repair vs frame repair of 45 hrs.
    - They're calling this a Customer Satisfaction Campaign and say it expires on March 31, 2016.

I did a VIN search here, https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/secure/company-info/vehicle-safety/recall-alerts, and it did show up along with the "Replace the screws on the Front seat belt Retractor" recall. I guess I'll do that one at the same time. On a side note, does one change to the link to something more direct like VIN search for Canadian Tacomas?

I'll post up later on how it goes, if anyone's interested. Maybe even take some before and after pics for comparison.

Yup, same letter as Hairy T.

No the bad thing is I just spent time, money and blood welding a whole new rear suspension together. Haha my frame is good though. If I'm on the list I'll go for an undercoating though.

I just checked my VIN. My truck being a US truck it didn't show up on the Canadian website.
When I checked the US site, there was no mention about the campaign.

Maybe I am stuck in limbo.

    Shawn.
