    Hello all,

I've just tried to post some photos in my gallery page of all my Toy trucks owned. Hopefully they come through o.k. My latest is the 08 model and I recently had new alum rims and tires installed. I also had the truck lifted 2 inches. Any comments would be appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Tyler

Thanks for the comments to all. My 84 was a great truck but had some serious rust problems. The frame actually cracked in the rear above the tires. The 93 is my pride and joy. Absolutely mint condition when I sold it. Man that was a beautiful truck. Had 360,000 kms on it so did not wish to deal with the upcoming over haul but was very sad to let it go. When I bought the 08, did not really like the lines much, but now with the lift and new rims tires things are starting to look much better. To 4x4x4trd man. You're just like me mate. Your 89 looked slick and clean. If I had the money, I'd kept my 93 and done a full frame off restore but what can you do. Bills, mortgage, etc. Had to let it go but yours looked like mine. I've also now posted several more pix in my gallery page of all 3 trucks. I have more plans for the new one and will post soon when the work is done. Thanks fellas.

I think the '89 was the one for the fond memories that went with that period of my life. I also liked that body style the best of all I've owned, although this new one is growing on me and is truly a better truck. What's crazy is the guy I sold it to in '99 is now a neighbor living only 4 doors down. I see the truck everyday. He mentions it is for sale again.

    Tyler & 4x4x4,

You guys are bringing me back. Nice, NICE trucks! My toyota addiction started with a 1987 SR5 Xcab 4WD Turbo.
I absolutely loved that truck, but sadly sold it in order to buy my first home. It tore me up watching someone else driving it away from my apartment....so I learned my lesson....

    Next came

    1990 SR5 Xcab 4WD V6 ~ followed by...
    1995 SR5 Xcab 4WD V6 ~ followed by ....
    a couple of Tundras ~ returning to a ....
    2006 SR5 DC 4WD V6

All 3 previous gen tacomas gave me zero problems other than the the V6 dog of an engine. Didn't even get bit by the head gasket problem. My favorite was that 4 banger turbo. THAT was a fun, fun truck. I know what you mean about rust, mine got eaten up badly too. Imagine a toyota rust buy back then??? How many did you see with pressure treated beds in your day???

Well, you got me searching my photo box for old truck pics. Here is my turbo for grins. Post em if you got em. Great thread BTW!

damn, those are some nice trucks. i have a serious crush on your 84. i love the old pick ups for some reason. 2nd gens are badass but there's something to be said for hte rugged design and simplicity of the older models.

Funny your mention the head gasket thing. The '89 had about 92K miles when I received the card from Toyota stating possible head gasket trouble. In the glove box it goes and damn if two weeks later the truck blows the gasket, overheats, ect.. Take it to the dealer and nine years and 92K miles on it they rebuild the whole top end of that motor for free, $0. I've been a loyal Toyota fan every since.;)
