What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

What's the back look like? Simple prongs or do I need a connector? Max wattage through that?

 

Replaced rear diff oil.
Replaced front diff oil.
Replaced transfer case oil.
Replaced engine oil
Installed new shackles.
Installed carrier bearing drop bracket.
Rotated tires

 

How hard is it to clean the K&N ? Did the oil from the K&N mess up your throttle body like some say it does ? Thanks for any reply.

 

Says 150W on the flap. There are 4 pins. 2 for power. 2 for leg light. Only 2 have to be connected. See my earlier post for the diagram.

It wants a connector, but you don't really need one. You can solder the wires straight to the pins if you have thin soldering iron. You can also cut the plastic skirt around the pins. You can also find some tiny connectors at Radio Shack that would fit. If you want a connector that was made for this thing, its $27 online.

I was going to solder wires to the pins, put some shrink tubing over them and then fill that thing with epoxy. I am leaning towards purchasing the connector though. It will make it easier replacing this thing in the future, if i have to.

Had it in the dealer to turn the rotors this time, since they turned the drums already at 5k so 20k later it was time for the front .

 

I used one of the existing holes and a bolt I previously took off the truck at some point in time from some where. Lol

Any tight fit bolt with fine thread should work. I also coated it with loctite because it was sorta loose. I melted a hole in the strap with a really hot screw.

 

Cleaning it is the easy part. Just follow the instructions on the box and don't over oil the filter. Waiting for the filter to air dry can sometimes be what takes the longest. I've never had a problem with the oil from the filter getting anywhere near the throttle body.

Thanks for the reply - my bad - it's the MAF that has been written up that, over oiling and long drying times. Any problems with the MAF ?

ECGS Bushing. Had the same harmonic vibration that went away when 4X4 engaged and it solved the issue immediately. Over 5,000 miles since the install and no vibes. There is a long thread on Tacoma World about this everything.

Engine Oil & Filter
Engine Air Filter
Spark Plugs
Front/Rear Differential Fluid
Transfer Case Fluid
Cabin Air Filter
Torqued Rear Axle U-bolt Nuts to 73 ft/lb

I followed all torque specs for spark plugs & fluid housing plugs. I used mobile 1 engine oil & gear oil, Toyota air filters & stock denso plugs (gapped them .043 myself...they were all off), and Toyota oil filter. This was my first maintenance done by myself, as the first 25,000 miles were complementary at the dealer.

I still need to:

Hit each grease zerk with a pump or two (done recently at 25,600)
Rotate Tires
Check bolt/nut torque on drivelines
Wash/Wax/Vacuum
Detail under hood

Good to know it's being maintained correctly!

 

All that I did was get the new truck. 2014 dcsb trd off road manual. These configurations and like a unicorn, impossible to find.

 

1. Took all mud flaps off.
2. Had Goodyear Adventures 265/70/17 put on stock wheels.

Really makes the truck look better IMHO.

when did you do your lift? how many miles?
Because I had that vibe on my 07 and had the dealer fix it. But I lifted my 12' right away and haven't had the vibe.

 

Personally I haven't had any of those problems.
