ok well finally finished the tube doors. when first got them they were designed to be bolt on- to the hinges. didn't like that> pita. so i made the quick disconnect hinges (page or 2 back)
I didnt like how low they were, especially with the subaru seats sitting higher than factory, i needed arm rests, so i made some:)

painted it all black, i liked it until i drove through some water and got slrayd when i turned.... then i got to thinkin about canvas wrapping. Called up Softopper in boulder, they werent interested in a custom wrapping job, but they did sell me their canvas fabric for cheap!!!

I gave my doors to a buddy at work, a couple weeks later he brought them back with a bunch of little dots everywhere. I had to drill pilot holes for the buttons. royal pita drilling through the dom tubing... installing the button screws was cake. gave them back to him and bam custom one off black canvas wrapped tube doors with arm rests! he reinforced 2 inches around the edge of the cover so the snaps wont pull through. we used black snaps to keep it all one color and not shiny chrome snaps. he did all his own sowing. great job for completely freehand custom...

so if anyone in Denver wants and fabric work done, I know a guy:thumbsup:

only thing i may change or add is a limit strap, the doors are light, but if u dont hold onto it when getting out the can open quickly and flex the hinges a bit.... guess door checks on the stock doors do alot;) lol

oh and upgraded the front lighting a bit. bought a cheap light bar off Amazon, great reviews so figured id try it. took it apart as soon as i got it and resealed it. the amber covers only came in 6 inch sections, designed for a 30" bar. So i bought 4 and cut the 4th cover down to a 2 inch cover to make a total of 20 inches amber. Used fog light wiring harness Eric got me, redesigned it a bit for the single light application and used a different switch as well. the light tabs on the bumper i originally welded on weren't spaced far enough for the new light bar. I made some small little brackets out of some scrap i had. easily mounted it right in front of the winch.
Came out pretty sweet! excited to go play with it all now, next year Moab is gonna be even more fun now!

I was gonna say "pics or it didn't happen" but I'm pretty sure you have a plan for unveiling those bad boys. Sounds like good work man.

Nice work on the doors Jace.

My buddy does custom sewing also. Made me a canvas door/wall with button snaps for my firewood storage.

Word of advice is to make sure to gently pry the buttons apart when it comes time to remove the canvas (if you ever do).

I didn't have a problem with the buttons pulling through the fabric but a couple of the male ends broke off in the female ends and that button is now completely non functional.

i gotta come up wth something new with the rear brakes. i think i need to start with extension pieces on the ebrake levers. the cable is rubbing on the leave packs causing it to pull the levers> warped drums. but as it flexes, the damn line pulls and engages the brakes.... pita
