    Hey guys
    First post here
    Looking to
Trade my f250 in on a double cab manual tacoma
I really dig the trd pro but talking to a few local dealers they seem like they will be tough to find
Thoughts on if it worth it to hold out and try and get one
Or buy a trd and add some mods
I'm a jeep guy and have been known to get out of control with mods
Kinda the attraction to the pro is not touching it

Also anyone here work at a dealer and know if you can order one?
    Thanks
    Nick

    Depends....

If you plan on modding it at all then a SR5 would be your best bet. Then do all the mods you want. A stock TRD is extremely capable off road. TRD PRO you will be paying a premium for a slightly upgraded suspension. Your call really. I'm very happy with my TRD OR.

I want the bells and whistles of the trd
Not trying to mod like crazy
I have an 82 scrambler on 37's with a 327 for the rocks
Looking at this for a dd/go fast in the woods weekend warrior
I know it's an opinion question
Just curious to see what the general opinion is
Getting a new trd and slightly modding could be the better bet...

TRD Pro is cool no doubt. But imo won't be worth the extra in price. Sounds like a TRD OR would suit you fine if you don't want to mod much but have all the bells and whistles. Mine has every option available and I love it.

Everyone is going to tell you what they have is the best. Get what you want. You want a factory lift and dont mind the extra money for the pro, do it

I don't think that is necessarily the case. I don't think mine is the best just the best for me. I even mentioned the SR5 as it is a better platform to build a truly great OR truck for less money.

You seem to already have your Mod Fix with your Scrambler so just get the TRD Pro because you want it and you aren't going to mod it.

Just know that if you end up modding the TRD Pro, all of the bells and whistles that come with it are nowhere near as good as the aftermarket Icon/OME/Total Chaos/King goodies and paying a premium at the dealership for the TRD Pro is generally something one does when they want to keep it all stock and bypass the aftermarket.

Can't find any Bajas in manual
Local dealer had an auto and I couldn't do it
Actually it's been really hard even finding a loaded 4door trd in Manual

There's a Toyota dealer(I think Ohio), who's always advertising manual-tranny Tacoma pro's on EBay. Not sure if he's got any listed right now, but u should check it out...

I'd stay back on the TRD OR (yeah...I bought that one). I thought about waiting until the new year came out for the TRD Pro but all of those mods are going to be available and I can add those as I wish, allowing the mod bug to bite but staying within my confines but I didn't feel like a little extra lift and suspension travel was worth the extra $2500 or so that package is going to be over the TRD OR package.

Was the TRD OR worth it over the SR5? For my situation, yeah. But to each his own. Depends on the features, most notably the OEM e-locker or not, the better seats in the TRD and whether you want the 6' bed rather than the 5' since you can't get the OR package with the 6' (and I wouldn't think TRD Pro gets it either).

I think you're right. I don't think you can get a LB with the Pro but I'm not 100% sure.

Have you driven the six speed? I have never owned a car with an AT. I just came from a 6-spd BMW 335xi that was modded and tuned. When I set out to buy the Taco, i drove a few different MTs and was not overly impressed. I found the MT clunky, and not very smooth. Granted, I did not get to drive one set up with a short-throw shifter, and i was comparing it to the BMW, which was an awesome automobile, but I ended up with a 2014 Baja with an AT. I got the stuff i really wanted -- nav, jbl, towing package, convenience package, and the slightly upgraded suspension that is more than ample for my limited "off-road" needs in upstate NY. I ultimately decided that an AT in a truck is fine.

I had planned on a supercharger and CAI, but I'm rather enjoying paying almost 50 cents less per gallon of gas.

Yea I test drove one a couple weeks ago
    I really liked it
Hard to compare a BMW tranny to a truck
My scrambler has an sm465 in it
3 speed with a granny, if anyone has experience with it it's like shifting a broomstick in a bucket

6 foot bed would be nice
Not available in mt as far as I can tell
