What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

That looks awesome! One thing you may want to look at is giving the resi's a little slack, just in case

Thanks man, they do have some slack almost 2 inches, neither of those angles show it. They shouldn't really move though right? A little bit with flex but only an inch or so of swing, anyone else with resi's have some thoughts on this?

 

Disabled my DRL. No pic because that would be lame. Then I went wheeling for the first time ever. Three weeks ago I had a lowered Chevrolet.

I was under the impression 1st gens had just regular good old fashioned selectable headlights

 

some of them do, i think it was an option when buying the truck.

Replaced the sealed beam headlights - one of which was cracked - with Rampage halogens. Since I had the grille off I re-painted the black plastic area, popped off the logo and painted it gold chrome, and re-painted the lower trim as well to match the grille. Next up is a bug shield.

 

Did some seriously needed maintenance this weekend and threw in a couple new parts.

New S&B air intake (POS, never buy one, its crap). I'm going to look at replacing it in the near future, but I had to have something since you can see my factory air box was toast.
AEM dry flow filter on it.
ADD W1 oil catch can.
New plugs and wires (the original plugs were still in this thing at 188K )
Did a little exhaust wrap on the Air intake tube...not sure if that is going to help any, but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.









All cleaned up and put back together.

 

Mine are disabled, on a 2000 , just unplug it.....took about 20 sec.

No cutting anything...
